Electrician - Technician

<div>Overview:
<div><b>
**This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**</b></div><div></div><div><br>
Under supervision of the Facilities Operations &amp; Maintenance Manager, Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment. Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and maintains the facility&rsquo;s physical electrical distribution system in good repair.
</div>Responsibilities:
<div><i>
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.</i></div><ul><li>
Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.</li><li>
Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment and maintains the facility&rsquo;s physical electrical distribution system in good repair.</li><li>
Performs other duties as required.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li><b>Minimum Qualifications: </b><b>Education/Certifications:</b> One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.<br>
<ul><li>
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience in the electrical wiring industry, including experience in planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems IAW the NEC.</li><li>
Journeyman Electrician License from any US State or Territory</li><li>
Ability to provide a copy of diploma or college transcripts</li><li>
Must be CAC Eligible and/or able to obtain a (Common Access Card) CAC Card.</li><li>
A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a host nation Driver's License, is required.</li><li>
2 years valid Passport</li></ul></li><li><b>
Experience:</b><br>
<ul><li>
Electrical work experience includes electrical installation in commercial and industrial categories.</li><li>
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 for repairs and upgrades to existing construction, and NEC 2011 standards apply for new construction, contract specifications, and MIL Standards/Regulations</li></ul></li><li><b>
Skills:</b><br>
<ul><li>
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.</li><li>
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.</li><li>
Knowledgeable of how to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.</li><li>
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language with proficiency.</li><li>
Must be capable of typing a minimum of 40 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.</li><li>
Must know or capable to gain an understanding of the Operations section and an understanding of the mission of the DPMTO.</li><li>
Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.</li><li>
Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office and/or other related applications</li></ul></li><li><b>
Working Conditions:</b><br>
<ul><li>
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.</li><li>
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).</li><li>
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Physical Requirements:</b><br>
<ul><li>
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</li><li>
Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.</li><li>
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.</li><li>
Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.</li></ul></li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
