<br>The South Carolina Judicial Branch is seeking to fill Digital Court Reporter I positions statewide. The Digital Court Reporter I serves both the Circuit and Family Courts by accurately capturing the record according to the policies and procedures prescribed in relevant statutes and court rules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION Note: This job bulletin represents general duties for this position and is not intended to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Attends court proceedings and creates verbatim recordings by operating electronic audio recording equipment provided by SCJB to create a clear and complete quality audio recording of legal proceedings. <br>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) High school diploma.Verified current credentials as a Certified Electronic/Digital Court Reporter by the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT). Successful completion of an AAERT approved Electronic/Digital Court Reporting Program from an institution of higher education may be substituted for the required credentials as a Certified Electronic/Digital Court Reporter. One (1) year of legal experience with a thorough knowledge of hearing procedures.Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm with a high rate of accuracy.Computer and word processing experience and ability to operate digital recording equipment. Must be able to maintain concentration and sit in a courtroom for extended periods of time.Must have dependable transportation as this position will require occasional travel to courthouses throughout the circuit. Digital Court Reporter I

<div><p>The Second Judicial District is seeking a full-time <b>Official Stenographic or Electronic Court Reporter </b>for Referee Jenna Westby. In this position you will work directly with Referee Westby out of the <b>Juvenile and Family Justice Center 25 W. 7th St. #B122 St. Paul, MN 55102 </b>. This is a highly responsible technical work role. The primary functions are to capture a verbatim record of court proceedings using a stenographic machine to prepare and distribute transcripts in accordance with rules of court, opinions, state statutes, legal guidelines, and policies.
</p><p>Additionally, the court reporter serves as the appointing authority's confidential assistant. The court reporter exercises independent judgment as related to the duties of maintaining the record. Work is reviewed and evaluated by the appointing authority.
</p><p>This position supports Referee Westby and promotes the court's mission of providing justice through a system that assures equal access for the fair and timely resolution of cases and controversies.
</p><p>Regular hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will require the ability to work full-time during these hours.
</p><p>This is a hybrid role working both on-site and remotely, depending on business needs and a reliable internet connection will be required when working remotely.

Must have passed the Registered Professional Reporters (RPR) examination administered by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) or passed an equivalent qualifying examination* such as the Certified Verbatim Reporter (CVR) administered by the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA).</li><li>
Realtime court reporting proficiency, Realtime certification is <i>preferred.</i></li><li>
Must own or be willing to purchase, upon entry on duty, realtime court reporting equipment.</li><li>
