<div><p><b>Judge Michelle L. Clark, who is chambered in the Douglas County Courthouse, Alexandria, Minnesota, seeks qualified candidates for a Court Reporter position, preferably Stenographic. </b>The ability to travel is a requirement for this position as the court reporter will occasionally work in other counties within the Seventh Judicial District.
</p><p>This position is responsible for the verbatim recording and transcription of testimony from judicial proceedings, hearings, and conferences, in compliance with all applicable statutes and court rules or as directed by the appointing authority. Additionally, the court reporter serves as the judicial officer's confidential assistant.
</p><p>Alexandria is a beautiful, vibrant community of approximately 15,000 located midway between Fargo and the Twin Cities along Interstate 94. </p><p>Prior to assuming the bench, Judge Clark worked as a law clerk for one year before joining a private practice in Alexandria. </i></p><p>Graduation from high school or equivalent; <b>and </b>Graduation from a court reporting school approved by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) within the past two years; <b>or </b>Compliance with one of the following: Received a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) designation from the NCRA; <b>or </b>Received an equivalent certification from another state or territory of the United States, or professional court reporter association; <b>or </b>Have been practicing proficiently as a professional stenographic reporter for the past two (2) years and within one (1) month of hire, accurately take a minimum of 20 minutes of court proceedings alongside a stenographic court reporter who has an RPR designation or certification as provided in clauses (a) or (b), and then produce a transcript with 95% accuracy as described in (d) below; <b>or </b>Obtain RPR designation from the NCRA within two years of hire. Pending receipt of the RPR designation, must, within one (1) month of hire, accurately take a minimum of 20 minutes of court proceedings alongside a stenographic court reporter who has an RPR designation or certification as provided in clauses (a) or (b), and then produce a transcript. The participating RPR certified stenographer will determine that Ninety-five (95) percent accuracy is achieved to successfully complete this requirement.

Stenographic court reporters who do not meet requirements as noted above must become certified by the Minnesota Judicial Branch or the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT) as an Electronic Court Reporter within three months of hire and take the record electronically until they are in compliance with a, b, c, or d above.

<p>POSITION OVERVIEW:</p><p>The United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa is seeking qualified applicants for an Official Court Reporter. Official Court Reporters are responsible for the verbatim reporting of proceedings held before United States District Judges and Magistrate Judges and for the transcription of those proceedings upon request. Official Court Reporters are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Court and must comply with the requirements of the Judicial Conference of the United States and the Court Reporter Management Plan of the Court.</p><p>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:</p><ul><li>Attend and record verbatim court sessions for both civil and criminal proceedings; read back portions of court record as required.</li><li>Provide transcripts within the time and cost limitations set by the Judicial Conference; electronically file with the Clerk of Court a copy of all transcripts prepared concurrently with delivery to the requesting parties. ABOUT THE POSITION</b></div><div>
Under general supervision, the Official Assignment Court Reporter, working on an intermittent basis, reports and transcribes verbatim stenographic record of official court proceedings. A stenographic record is defined as using the voice method or the machine method. The Official Assignment Court Reporter prepares and certifies transcripts, and, at the direction of the Court, reads the report aloud in court, in accordance with applicable code sections; and performs related tasks within the area of assignment.</div><div></div><div><br>
The Official Assignment Court Reporter is distinguished from an Official Court Reporter in that the classification provides additional courtroom support from time to time on an as-needed basis. Incumbents will be expected to gradually perform a broader range of duties with increasing responsibility and independence as experience is gained. An Official Assignment Court Reporter is expected to qualify for advancement to Official Court Reporter by the end of a fifty-two (52) week probationary period. There is no permanent status in the Official Assignment Court Reporter classification.
