Position Purpose:
<br>
Job involves instruction, supervision, and training of individuals or groups of students with a wide variety of needs in a regular and/or special education setting. Job activities include instruction of students in a variety of education environments including classrooms and learning centers.<br>
Practicing safety guidelines, in this position, you will be assigned by the Secretary or Principal to specific classrooms to cover staff absences. As a Building Substitute you will be staffed at full-time hours each day to ensure that any staff absences do not negatively impact our students&rsquo; academic progress or cause disruption to the school operations.
<br>
During a prolonged absence of a teacher, the Building Substitute is responsible for performing all essential functions identified in the absent teacher&rsquo;s job description.

Required Certifications/Licenses:<br>
All substitute teachers are required to have a valid teaching credential or a Wisconsin 3 year substitute teacher permit.
<br>
To qualify for a 3-year substitute teacher permit, an applicant must have earned a minimum of a Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or Associate Degree and be hired by a district.
<br>
Successful completion of the Substitute Training Workshop is required to obtain the 3 Year substitute teacher permit. We are partnering up with STEDI to offer this workshop.

This is an on-call position providing coverage when regularly scheduled tutors are absent.</p><p>Substitute tutors will step into scheduled sessions working with small groups of 3&ndash;5 students using curriculum and materials provided by Thrive Academics, ensuring lessons remain clear, engaging, and effective.</p><p>In this role, you will track and document student progress through our internal system, help students stay on track, and maintain a positive learning environment that supports growth and good behavior.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Deliver structured, small-group tutoring sessions in Math and English Language Arts for students in groups of 3&ndash;5 when regularly scheduled tutors are unavailable.</li><li>Foster a positive and focused learning environment that supports collaboration, engagement, and academic growth.</li><li>Follow provided curriculum and adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.</li><li>Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance and session documentation.</li><li>Communicate regularly with the school coordinator and Thrive office staff via phone, text, and email.</li><li>Participate in periodic training and check-ins to remain aligned with program expectations and instructional practices.</li></ul><p><b>Position Requirements</b></p><p>Communication: Must be able to collaborate via phone and email to complete job requirements.</p><p>Education: 60 completed college credits toward a Math or Literacy degree, or educator certification, or passing the Arizona Para-Pro Assessment.</p><p>Skills: Comfortable working with children in a classroom setting.</p><p><b>Clearances &amp; Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Valid Arizona Fingerprint Card</li><li>Negative TB test (within 4 years)</li><li>Reliable transportation</li><li>Proficient in Math and English Language Arts (K-6)</li><li>Functional device (computer/laptop/tablet)</li></ul><p><b>Ideal Candidate Attributes</b></p><ul><li>Bilingual Spanish/English preferred</li><li>Punctual, reliable, and dedicated to student success</li><li>Strong proficiency in Math and English Language Arts</li></ul><p>Job Type: Part-time</p><p>Pay: $25.00 per hour</p><p>Expected hours: 3 &ndash; 9 per week</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>
