About the Role</h1>
We are seeking a Principal Product Cybersecurity Assurance Engineer with deep expertise in product security, threat modelling, and risk assurance for highly regulated electromechanical systems. In this role, you will lead the delivery of product cybersecurity across Humanoid's HMND 01 platform family &mdash; the Alpha Wheeled industrial robot and the Alpha Bipedal home robot &mdash; both powered by our KinetIQ VLM/VLA-based AI framework. Working alongside product, firmware, autonomy, and hardware teams as part of the Systems Engineering and Architecture Team, you will define and maintain the cybersecurity assurance strategy for all product security activities from first concept through post-market deployment. Security at Humanoid is an engineering discipline inseparable from functional safety and central to our mission of creating the world's most reliable, commercially scalable, and safe humanoid robots. What You'll Do</h1><ul><li>
Team Leadership &amp; Product Security Delivery<ul><li>
Lead and develop a cross-functional team of security engineers, maintaining accountability for the delivery of product security services within product teams throughout the HMND 01 development lifecycle.</li><li>
Define product security requirements and advise development teams on suitable implementation standards, techniques, and toolchains for embedded and AI-enabled robotic systems.</li><li>
Partner with cross-functional teams to develop security protocols, tools, and processes that keep HMND 01 technologies ahead of emerging threats &mdash; including attack surfaces specific to the KinetIQ AI inference pipeline and cloud-to-robot communication architecture.</li><li>
Own and maintain key security artefacts for audit-ready cybersecurity documentation including Security Management Plans, Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) reports, Risk Assessments, and Remediation Action Plans across both platforms.</li></ul>
Security Assurance &amp; Certification<ul><li>
Drive security assurance through the full product lifecycle, ensuring every HMND 01 design is robust, compliant, and resilient. Contribute to the continual improvement of security engineering capability across the organisation.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity obligations under the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 where cyber controls intersect with safety-critical functions and compliance to IEC 62443 (for industrial/OT product security), and the EU Cyber Resilience Act.</li><li>
Provide independent Information Assurance (IA) reviews and risk assessments on complex, high-impact projects &mdash; with particular focus on cyber-physical systems where a digital compromise could result in physical harm to operators or end users.</li><li>
Review and provide guidance on security risk assessments, risk mitigation plans, mitigation gap analysis, and security management documentation in support of system cybersecurity certification.</li></ul>
Incident Response &amp; Lifecycle Security<ul><li>
Establish and maintain a Product Security Incident Response (PSIR) process, encompassing coordinated vulnerability disclosure, patch deployment pipelines, and post-field incident analysis.</li><li>
Define and oversee security monitoring requirements for deployed fleets, ensuring field data feeds back into risk files and security artefacts in line with post-market surveillance obligations.</li></ul>

What We're Looking For</h1><ul><li>
Proven, hands-on experience with ISO 27001/27004/27005 and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), applied to regulated hardware or embedded product programmes.</li><li>

Role Objective

The Wintel DevOps Engineer is responsible for implementing the Windows infrastructure components of the MCBRIDE service as well as additional AWS cloud native services (this may extend to Google Cloud Platform in the future). This includes traditional Wintel roles such as Active Directory configuration and DevOps processes and tools including Terraform and Git. 


Expected Outputs

<li>Terraform IaaC: Create Terraform code to deploy and maintain infrastructure on the MOD&rsquo;s AWS Cloud platform. Experience on Ansible is desirable but not required as training can be provided.</li>
<li>Wintel: Configure Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Certificate Services and other windows configurations, including PowerShell scripting.</li>
<li>GitOps: Work within the git-based framework for managing the infrastructure code base.</li>

THE ROLE

The Senior Application Security Engineer is a key member of Cognism's Information Security Team, reporting into the Application &amp; Infrastructure Security Manager. Your mission is to embed security by design across our engineering and product organization by integrating modern application security practices throughout the full development lifecycle. We focus on building secure, scalable, and resilient systems while enabling the business to innovate quickly and safely. It is to drive a culture where the fastest path for our engineers is the securest path.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Data teams to understand risks within our platform, including risks introduced by AI powered features, and ensure the right controls, guardrails, and security patterns are built into the product at its inception &ndash; all the while ensuring a balanced approach to the product experience that our thousands of large global enterprise customers use every day.

This role is ideal for a senior IC who is technical, collaborative, and pragmatic, with the ability to influence engineering teams while driving hands on improvements to Cognism's secure SDLC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Security by Design &amp; Product Integration
<ul>
<li>Partner with Product, Web and Data Engineering teams from the ideation stage to ensure security requirements are considered early in feature and model design.</li>
<li>Translate product and application risks into actionable security controls, making recommendations repeatable to build guardrails and guidance that product, design, and engineering teams can apply as they scale and build the products in the teams they own.</li>
<li>Help shape security acceptance criteria and guide engineering teams during design reviews and backlog planning.</li>
</ul>
Application Risk Assessment &amp; AI Security
<ul>
<li>Identify and assess application risks across Cognism's SaaS platform, data processing pipelines, including emerging risks associated with AI/ML capabilities.</li>
<li>Contribute to AI feature reviews and participate in AI risk assessments to ensure responsible and secure use of models, in a way that balances the need to innovate and challenge the status quo in AI implementation.</li>
<li>Assess and pragmatically recommend mitigations for security risks in data pipelines, model-training workflows, feature stores, and ML systems, ensuring strong controls for data access, data lineage, model integrity, and protection of sensitive datasets.</li>
</ul>
Secure SDLC &amp; DevSecOps Enablement
<ul>
<li>Partner with our engineering and platform team to embed security guardrails into our software development lifecycle and agile engineering workflows.</li>
<li>Partner with engineering teams to integrate and optimize security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, SCA, DAST, container scanning, IaC scanning).</li>
<li>Drive automation and developer-friendly security processes that minimize friction and support rapid delivery.</li>
</ul>
Threat Modelling &amp; Architecture Support
<ul>
<li>Conduct and facilitate a self-serve, risk-driven approach to pragmatic threat modelling sessions for new features, services, and AI components.</li>
<li>Conduct threat modelling for data architectures, including ingestion, transformation, storage, streaming, and ML model deployment patterns, ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and responsible use.</li>
<li>Provide hands-on application security guidance to engineering teams, helping them implement secure APIs, microservices, data flows, and integrations.</li>
<li>Maintain and expand Cognism's secure coding standards, guidance, and reusable security patterns.</li>
</ul>
Application Security Testing &amp; Engineering
<ul>
<li>Perform hands-on security testing (manual and automated) for web applications, microservices, APIs, and cloud components.</li>
<li>Plan, coordinate, and oversee penetration tests, red team exercises, and third-party security assessments, ensuring findings are addressed and tracked.</li>
<li>Validate findings, assist with prioritization, and partner with engineering teams on remediation strategies.</li>
</ul>
Collaboration, Education &amp; Influence
<ul>
<li>Work directly with product squads, acting as a trusted advisor and embedded security partner. Take the time to understand what other teams are working on, what business priorities are, and partner with teams to recommend risk mitigations that balance risk with opportunity and that take into account the threat landscape.</li>
<li>Deliver security training, workshops, and guidance to improve engineering teams' security maturity.Communicate security risk and tradeoffs clearly and constructively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.</li>

<li>Architectural Empathy: Ability to put yourself in the position of your users (the engineers) to build security guardrails that are repeatable and embedded into existing workflows rather than added as hurdles.</li>

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE
<ul>
<li>5&ndash;10+ years of experience in Application Security, Product Security, or Security Engineering roles.</li>
<li>Strong experience securing cloud native SaaS platforms (AWS preferred) and Data pipelines.</li>
<li>Handson experience with secure coding, application testing, and CI/CD security automation.</li>
<li>Experience working closely with engineering and product teams in agile environments.</li>
<li>Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP ASVS, OWASP Top 10, NIST, ISO 27001/2.</li>
<li>Experience evaluating and securing AI/ML enabled features is a strong advantage.</li>
<li>Experience in SME or high-growth SaaS environments preferred.</li>

The Role

At Cognism, the security of our data, our systems and our clients' systems is a business priority. As the function continues to mature, we are now hiring for a Director of Security Engineering &amp; Operations to report directly to our CISO. In this role you will own and drive the technical security strategy for Cognism's web and data products, as well as our corporate environment. What You'll Own

Security Strategy &amp; Engineering Integration
<ul>
<li>Define and own Cognism's technical security strategy that seeks to embed security-by-design within our web and data products, our data fusion engine and pipelines, and our corporate landscape. You will drive a strategy that is pragmatic, risk-ranked, and aligned to engineering velocity.</li>
<li>Work directly with product and technology leadership as a strategic partner. You will drive ownership and accountability, clearly agreeing ways of working between your team and product and technology teams.</li>
<li>Set and direct a secure SDLC strategy that engineers engage with, coaching and mentoring our application security engineer with running our threat modelling program, embedding security in CI/CD, and iteratively improving our vulnerability management processes.</li>
<li>Partner with engineering leadership to ensure risk-driven supply chain management across our product, ensuring what we bring in doesn't undermine what we protect.</li>
<li>Work directly with our Director of IT operations to ensure our corporate security posture is mitigating risk and empowering our employees to be as secure as possible, through guardrails that protect unacceptable risk but don't stifle innovation.</li></ul> 


Data &amp; AI Security
<ul>
<li>Partner with our VP of Data Engineering to strengthen the security of our enrichment engine, data pipelines, and warehouse ecosystems.</li>
<li>Direct a strategy that considers security across the full data stack - from ingestion through to the warehouse - with a focus on access governance, data classification, and secrets management as non-negotiables.</li>
<li>Define how Cognism embeds AI securely as LLMs and agentic workflows move deeper into the product and our technology teams' operations.</li>
<li>Partner with our CISO to shape and implement an AI security posture that is embedded in strong security foundations, helping us stay ahead of the threat landscape rather than reacting to it.</li></ul> 


Detection, Response &amp; SOC Partnership
<ul>
<li>Own the strategic relationship with our 24/7 outsourced SOC holding them to a high standard on threat hunting, threat intelligence utilisation, and automated response, not just SLA compliance.</li>
<li>Ensure Cognism has a holistic, well-maintained SIEM that reflects how we operate and improves continuously as the threat landscape evolves.</li>
<li>Build the internal team into a trusted escalation layer, with clear incident response playbooks, rehearsed escalation paths, and a feedback loop that sharpens detection over time.</li></ul> 


Team &amp; Culture

<li>Lead a team of application and infrastructure security engineers, setting the standard for technical excellence and deep partnership with their engineering counterparts.</li>

Leadership &amp; influence

<li>Demonstrated experience building security programmes from scratch or transforming them significantly in a product-led, engineering-first company.</li>
<li>A track record of influencing engineering culture and earning trust, not enforcing it.</li>
<li>Experience managing external security partners, (e.g 24/7 Security Operations Centre, penetration testing 3rd parties) and raising their performance through clear accountability, not just contract reviews.</li>
<li>Able to communicate risk in business terms to exec and board audiences, and technical terms to engineers, without losing precision in either direction.</li></ul> 


Technical foundation

<li>Strong AppSec expertise (OWASP, API security, SAST/DAST, SDLC) with practical threat modelling experience &ndash; enough to challenge and coach our most senior application security engineers.</li>
<li>Handson understanding of data security, cloud data warehouses, and pipeline integrity &ndash; enough to ensure we are driving the right programme of work across our technology department.</li>
<li>Cloud security fluency with working knowledge of container and Kubernetes security, IAM design, and cloud-native security tooling &ndash; enough to clearly identify, prioritise and challenge solutions for implementing security in our cloud environment.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of AI/LLM security risks: enough depth to assess integrations, define guardrails, and evolve the programme as the technology does.</li></ul>
