<p>Summary:</p>
<p>The Paramedic is a certified and/or licensed paramedic and is part of the hospital&rsquo;s Emergency Department patient care team. Reporting to the ED Nursing Director or Nursing Manager, the Paramedic collaboratively works in a complementary and assistive role with nursing. Under the direct clinical supervision of the licensed physician present in the same area or adjacent area, the paramedic provides assistance and performs procedures, and is authorized to provide advanced life support, administer medications and perform a patient evaluation of signs and symptoms based on their field skill sets. The Paramedic assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with training, competence and skill. He/she is knowledgeable of and follows all hospital policies and procedures. Consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked and safe patient environment.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul><li>Completely operates patient monitoring equipment, records, rhythm strips, runs 12 lead EKGs, biomarkers, and glucometer readings under the direction of the licensed physician.</li><li>
Performs phlebotomy, collects laboratory specimens as ordered and inserts saline lock, Foley catheter and nasal gastric tubes under the direction of the licensed physician.</li><li>
Assist in patient care, obtains and documents vital signs, provides patient hygiene, maintains clear and respectful communications with patients, families, and the healthcare team.</li><li>

Group Term Life Insurance is equal to 1x your basic annual earnings up to a maximum of $150,000. AD&amp;D is up to the amount of your Group Term Life Insurance. LTD benefits are up to 75% of monthly earnings up to a maximum of $6,500 per month. <div><b>Sick Leave </b></div><div>Shift personnel accrue fifteen (15) hours of sick leave per month for each full month of service and shall be charged hour-for-hour for sick time off. An employee may accumulate an unlimited number of sick leave days. Sick leave can be used for family members who are ill or require preventative care. A shift employee who uses seventy-two (72) or fewer hours of sick leave during a calendar year may cash out 20% of the balance of that year&rsquo;s accrual, rounded up to the nearest hour. </div><div></div><br>

<div><b>Education Incentive</b></div><div>An additional five hundred and fifty dollars ($550.00) shall be added to the monthly base salary of an employee who has at least 60 college units that are related to the employee's current job classification and directly enhance an employee's ability to do their job. </div><div>An additional seven hundred and seventy-five dollars ($775.00) shall be added to the monthly base salary of an employee who has an associate's degree or higher that are related to the employee's current job classification and directly enhances an employee's ability to do their job. </div><div></div><br>

Entry level and Lateral Firefighter Paramedic

We contract with local municipalities to provide Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and/or Fire Services. </b></div><div>We are currently seeking a full-time Paramedic/Firefighter for our North Boone Fire District #3 contract. The base annual starting pay is $73,216.</div><div><br>
The basic function of the Paramedic/Firefighter is to provide medical care and transportation for a patient at the Paramedic/Firefighter (EMT-P) level, within their scope of practice, as stipulated by Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and/or EMS Commission of Illinois.<br>
