The ED Tech functions primarily in direct patient care, and demonstrates *competent* clinical practice with a variety of patients. The tech in the ED works as part of a team with a common goal of offering patient centered, timely care, in a safe and friendly environment. The tech in this position offers individualized compassionate care to emergency department patients, observation patients, and outpatients based on the direction of the physician and RN. The tech pleasantly provides nonjudgmental care for the acutely ill, as well as the non-acute patient. Applies orthopedic devices, to include pre-manufactured and plaster splints under physician direction. 
 
3. Performs specimen collection, ensuring accuracy in identification and integrity by using appropriate techniques for all age criteria as required by Lab. Where state statute permits, performs point of care testing for blood glucose, hemoccult and gastroccult or other tests, and performs quality control checks on point of care equipment as required. 
 
4. Provides communication and updates to RN, Physician or other providers related to perceived reactions or changes to patients&rsquo; condition. Accurately records information in the patient record, documents vital signs and procedures completed, as well as the equipment and techniques utilized. 
 
5. Monitors supply stock levels and reports needs. Notifies housekeeping, maintenance, biomedical engineering, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment is maintained. Maintains appropriate levels of stock in medication room, exam room bedside carts, and specialty carts. Assists with health unit coordination tasks and reception responsibilities as needed. 
 
6. Attends department meetings and educational sessions; Assists in orienting and training of new ED Technicians.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Job Summary
Responsible for providing high quality pre-hospital and interfacility advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by HCA Healthcare North Carolina MAMA Medical Director(s). The Emergency Medical Technician will be responsible for carrying out the mission of HCA Healthcare North Carolina MAMA and goals of assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. 
 
What qualifications you will need:
Maintains current licensure and certification as a Paramedic in N.C. Office of Emergency 
 
Medical Services
Maintain BCLS certification
Must have a valid NC driver&rsquo;s license, must be 21 years old to meet Mission Health
insurance guidelines
Maintain FEMA 100, 200, 700, &amp; 800
Must attend 80% of monthly scheduled team meetings
Preferences:
Associated degree
Minimum 3-5 years&rsquo; full-time experience at the EMT level at a demanding 911 or interfacility
transport service.

7p-7a Rotating weekdays, weekends and holidays 3, 12 shift shiftsPatient Care Tech position in the Crisis Unit (Psychiatric Unit) located in the Emergency Room at Samaritan Hospital, Troy NY.
 
The Crisis Department provides a safe, caring environment for patients while their conditions stabilize. We conduct thorough evaluations and work with patients to reduce acute psychiatric disturbances. We then formulate the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient. We serve individuals of all ages and our care team consists of multidisciplinary staff with extensive experience providing services to individuals in psychiatric crisis. Staff include psychiatrists, registered nurses, and master-level prepared clinicians (social workers, psychologists, mental health counselors) whose primary goal is to stabilize patients in acute psychiatric crises and to formulate appropriate treatment plans for each patient.
