Job Summary</h2>
Reporting to the Benefits Manager, LTD Program, you will manage Long Term Disability (LTD) claims, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements. The Benefits Administrator Intermediate evaluates employee eligibility, analyzes job data, coordinates with insurance providers and internal stakeholders, and guides employees through the claims process with care. Responsibilities*</h2><ul><li>
Guide employees through the LTD claim application process, ensuring they understand requirements and deadlines.</li><li>
Review and process LTD claims, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure accurate documentation.</li><li>
Clearly communicate benefit entitlements and approve employment status changes for employees moving to or from LTD.</li><li>
Provide regular and timely updates to internal stakeholders, including Work Connections, HR Partners, and Payroll throughout the LTD claims process.</li><li>

Responsibilities
In your role as a Compliance and Benefits Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the organization's People Operations with a focus on employment compliance and strategic benefits administration. This role ensures the company adheres to federal, state and local employment laws by monitoring regulatory changes, managing required reporting and documentation, and actively drafting new policies and updating the employee handbook. The Administrator manages the employee benefits program, including health, retirement, and leave programs. </h1><ul><li>5-7 years of experience in employee benefits administration and analysis
</li><li>Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements
</li><li>Hands‑on experience administering benefits in Workday (strongly preferred)
</li><li>Digital fluency and comfort leveraging HR technology, data, automation, and emerging AI capabilities
</li><li>A balance of analytical rigor and employee empathy&mdash;you can handle complexity without losing sight of the human experience

 Location: Mechanicsburg, PA (ONSITE)
 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM (Full-Time)

Purpose of Position: 
The Benefits Specialist is a highly organized and motivated detail-oriented member of the Human Resources team. The Benefit Specialist will have joint responsibility for daily administration of employee benefits programs as well as the 401(k) retirement plan; routine compliance administration with federal/state and tax requirements as well as providing primary benefits customer service to all West Shore Home locations and employees. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
 
Key Role Accountabilities: 
<ul>
<li>Administer employee benefits plans such as medical, dental, vision, life, Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), voluntary plans, and 401(k) plans.</li>
<li>Act as liaison between the Company/employees and various insurance carriers and plan administrators. Advise employees on interpretation of plan provisions.</li>
<li>Support employees utilizing STD or LTD and provided benefit related assistance with other employee leaves, including monitoring of benefit catch ups and termination of benefits in compliance with Company policy.</li>
<li>Assist with Open Enrollment annually, including coordinating meetings, preparing data, and setting up plans and employee premiums in the HRIS.</li>
<li>Coordinate and administer activities of Company’s 401(k), including annual audits, compliance, and required notifications.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. The company does not and will not sponsor employment visas</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree, Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.</li>
<li>3+ years’ experience overseeing benefit administration preferred.</li>
<li>High attention to detail.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel skills, specifically vlookup formulas.</li>
<li>Experience with Dayforce software preferred.</li>
<li>Superior customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.</li>
