This job is a key team member of our expanded supported employment mission to provide a sense of purpose and community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is responsible for building a pipeline of business and clientele for employment services, performing as a job coach to new clients, and ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
 
Essential Duties: % Of Role Description
 40% New Business Development and Relationship Management of new Clients and Strategic Business Partnerships.
 <ul>
<li>Identify, develop and maintain positive community and business relationships for the purpose of finding people gainful employment and advancement that provides a meaningful experience.</li>
<li>Identify secure new clients to receive employment services through AbleLight.</li>
<li>Develop a pipeline of clients by forming strategic partnerships with School Districts to develop and implement pre-employment transition services.</li>
<li>Maintain positive and open lines of communications with employers / businesses to identify areas of success and opportunity. Partner with them to effectively remove employment barriers and resolve issues related to community integration and independence for people with disabilities.</li>
<li>Coordinate with School districts and Colleges to develop and promote pre-employment transition services, ultimately building a pipeline of clients.</li>
<li>Maintain cooperative working relationships with the vocational rehabilitation division and other funding and referral sources.</li>

40% Perform as a Job coach for Clients

<li>This individual will be responsible for also acting as a Job Coach and will be responsible for a caseload of varying clients.</li>
<li>Responsible for full-cycle support including but not limited to career counseling, evaluation, skills training / assessment, ensuring job readiness training and other activities related to employment transition and successful job placement.</li>
<li>Be a creative problem solver based on the needs of the individuals and the job duties.</li>

The LEAP Project is designed to provide transitioning reentrants from the Northampton County Prison and Lehigh County Jail with critical job readiness and employability skills they need to get and keep a job once released by creating and operating an American Job Center, called the LEAP-Center, in the Jail. Case Manager I – Employment
 (Temporary – Six Month Appointment)
 
Ministry: Newcomers MRS
 Primary Office: Alexandria
 Hours per Week: 40 Hours non-exempt
 Staff Supervisor: Employment Lead
 Telework Available: Hybrid 1 day, Friday, after 90 days of training
 Starting Hourly Rate: $24.14
 Office Hours: 9-5
 
Position Description: 
The Case Manager I-Employment Specialist of Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, Migration & Refugee Services, assists and prepares refugees and asylees to become self-sufficient through employment. Working under the Refugee Support Services Employment Program he/she is responsible for fulfilling all contractual obligations of the state-funded grant. This role is contingent on grant funding.
 
Position Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Conduct program orientation, intake, and assessment for clients; develop individual employment plans and provide case management to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.</li>
<li>Enroll clients into ESL classes & vocational trainings to increase employability.</li>
<li>Connect clients with job opportunities.</li>
<li>Prepares clients to enter the workforce within 90 days of arrival. Provide services to include orientation to the job market, skills assessment, career guidance, resume development, job application assistance, job referrals, interview preparation, job placement and follow up.</li>
<li>Educate clients about resources available in the community, including public benefits; make internal and external referrals to support client self-sufficiency and integration.</li>
<li>Educate clients about legal documents required for work, provide referrals for adjustment of status and naturalization.</li>
<li>In alignment with agency standards, document all services in case notes, and maintain required eligibility documentation; enter client data into agency databases in accordance with grant requirements.</li>

Other Duties: 
<ul>
<li>Provide services within the required timelines.</li>
<li>Develop new employer and training provider partnerships.</li>
<li>Attend regular supervision meetings, case consultations, contribute toward crisis mitigation strategies.</li>
<li>Follows all agency policies & procedures..</li>
<li>Other job-related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications & Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Effective oral and written communication skills</li>
<li>Bilingual English and 1 other language spoken by clients: Ukrainian, Dari, Pashtu, Arabic, Spanish, Amharic.</li>
<li>Flexible to work irregular hours.</li>
<li>Willingness to uphold Catholic social teaching in the workplace</li>
<li>Fluency in Microsoft office, excel, & other relevant software; strong presentation skills.</li>
<li>Ability to learn new tasks and procedures, comply with processes, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Associates degree with 3-5 years’ experience required or bachelor’s degree in social services field preferred.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a culturally diverse environment, 2 years refugee resettlement experience preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid US driver’s license, have a good driving record (including 3+ positive points on the VA Motor Vehicle Record), and have at least three years of US driving experience. Willing to drive clients.</li>

Physical Demands: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Specific vision requirements due to computer work and driving a motor vehicle. Light to moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
