The staff of Oxford Fire and EMS are working hard to become a leader in training, staff development, and retention.
We are currently accepting applications for one (1) full-time benefit eligible Firefighter/Basic EMT (FF/EMT). This is a non-supervisory position which specializes in Fire-EMS rescue operations and advanced life support emergency medical care in accordance with Massachusetts State Law and State EMS Protocols.
The FF/EMT will perform all functions in prevention and suppression of fires and/or extrications from any life-threatening circumstances. He/she will also mitigate hazardous materials to the extent allowed and provide other emergency/non-emergency services as directed by senior officers.
The FF/EMT will maintain assigned equipment in proper operating condition as well as monitor and maintain vehicles to ensure they are in response ready condition. He/she will complete and monitor checklists, reports, forms, and other fire/medical legal documents each shift.
The FF/EMT will participate in the required training classes. Oxford Fire and EMS prides itself on providing continued hands-on training as well as electronic courses to ensure staff are best prepared for any incident.
The salary range is $26.01 to $30.15 per hour depending on training and experience. Personnel are also eligible for an annual education and fitness stipend:<ul><li> Masters - $7,800</li><li> Bachelors - $5,200</li><li> Associates - $2,600</li><li> Fitness - $800</li></ul>

PURPOSE

Allied Universal Services is seeking the position of a Firefighter-EMT. 
The Firefighter-EMT is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. The Firefighter-EMT acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, as well as detects and reports suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts, which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site. 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
<ul><li>Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner</li>
<li>Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.</li>
<li>Health License as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher</li>
<li>Must have current CPR/AED Certification</li>
<li>Must pass physical and Fit Test required for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)</li>
<li>Must obtain and maintain annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)</li>
<li>Must obtain and maintain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146)</li>
<li>Must possess or be able to obtain any additional state requirements for a firefighter EMT</li>
<li>As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws</li>
<li>Display exceptional customer service and communication skills</li>
<li>Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.</li>
<li>Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites</li>
<li>Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently</li>
<li>Safely respond to emergency incidents, fight fires, mitigate hazardous material incidents, rescue trapped persons in confined spaces, and administer basic life support (BLS) treatment.</li>
<li>Able to perform firefighting duties including advancing hose lines, fire apparatus pump operations, safely operate power tools, climb ladders, and wear firefighter protective gear including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing approximately 70 pounds.</li>
<li>Able to:<ul><li>
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat</li>
<li>Occasionally lift or carry up to 80 pounds</li>
<li>Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift</li>
