The Endoscopy Technician II has an in-depth knowledge of GI and assists the nurses and physicians in providing care for the endoscopy patient. They have completed competencies for all basic GI procedures and are competent in all aspects of scope reprocessing. The Technician also supports the area with duties that include, but are not limited to preparation of the procedure room and sterile field to ensure a safe patient care environment including gathering all required instruments and supplies and serving as an endoscopy procedure assistant. The job also includes transportation of patients and equipment, stocking/maintaining supplies, care and maintenance of endoscopes and their accessories contributing to the daily functions of the unit. Exhibits a higher level of Collaboration with all members of the Wellstar health care team. Has a strong understand of infection control in the GI setting. </p><p>We are seeking a <b>Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant </b>to:
</p><ul><li>Provide comprehensive care to adult otolaryngology patients in an inpatient setting including collaboration with interdisciplinary team consisting of attending physicians, resident physicians, speech language pathologists, case management and nursing
</li><li>Perform or assist with the following procedures: Wound Care, Nasal Cautery, Rigid Nasal Endoscopy, Flexible Diagnostic Laryngoscopy, and Tracheostomy Changes.
</li><li>Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients/families with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems.
</li><li>Help support a smooth transition for patients after discharge through close collaboration with our ambulatory APPs and RNs.

 Monitors levels of all endoscopy instruments and supplies. Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection and chemical and biological monitoring. Performs treatments and procedures within the defined scope of practice. Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and physician. Ensures the endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Prepares the room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each endoscopy procedure. Demonstrates competence in the care and accurate handling of specimens. Checks all equipment and instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning. Assists in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for endoscopy procedures. Maintains an orderly environment and anticipates the needs of the physician during procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in the setup of multi-specialty endoscopy procedures. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge, and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies.
