As part of the Enrollment Management division, and reporting to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Admissions Counselor role serves as a key member of the team which is focused on supporting the recruitment goals of the University. The Admissions Counselor is part of a professional, fast-paced, and cohesive team where work feels like a second home. The scope of recruitment is typically within Southeastern, Michigan for our regional public institution. Responsibilities include building awareness of the UM-Dearborn brand and conveying the sense of Michigan Excellence and Community upon which we pride ourselves. Outreach efforts are ongoing and vary throughout the year as focus shifts among the following activities: on and off campus school visits, general high school presentations, college fairs and recruitment events (in-person and virtual); and the counseling of prospective students to get them into the admissions funnel focusing on students prior to application. This position will also work with students after admission through the admissions and enrollment process. While this role will work primarily with the first year student population there will be a coordinated effort with the transfer team with the Office of Admission.</p><p><b>
(40%): Recruitment for FTIAC students</b></p><ul><li>
Plan, coordinate, and participate in campus-wide outreach projects and activities, including local high schools to give general admissions presentations to prospective students and high school counselors, community organizations, and partners related to undergraduate admissions and dual enrollment.</li><li>
Establish relationships with high school counselors at visits to strengthen relationships with the University of Michigan-Dearborn and support enrollment pipelines in the designated recruitment territory.</li><li>

Duties &amp; Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for conducting outreach and direct recruitment activities, interfacing with other outreach contractors, and determining student qualifications for enrollment in support of the center&rsquo;s residential, non-residential, and Other Training Provider (OTP) programs in compliance with government and management directives.</li><li>
Admissions Counselor attends, exhibits, and presents at designated events including neighborhood and county activities/fairs, job fairs. Resource fairs and other events as directed by management.</li><li>
Develops and maintains linkages with referral sources such as colleges, school districts, human services agencies, youth organizations, recreational centers, DOL, national, state, and local agencies to identify potential students and conduct outreach activities.</li><li>
Interviews potential candidates to obtain information to support eligibility and complete applicant folders.</li><li>
Completes all required documentation in individual folders for enrollment per PRH and company requirements.</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or</li><li>
Associate&rsquo;s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and w years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.</li><li>
