Responsibilities: Job Summary 
Under the direction of Leadership, the IT Systems Administrator is responsible to empower our community through the continuous development, deployment, and support of vendor proprietary enterprise application software. The IT Systems Administrator supports software and the associated technology that is necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. This position works on the analysis of existing and proposed vendor supplied software functionality to determine if the software conforms to current health system workflow processes in addition to providing an in depth knowledge to support the technology platforms on which the software runs. The IT Systems Administrator is a high performing individual who collaborates with business operations to understand and define system requirements to develop innovative solutions meeting the customers' needs. This position will work closely with the IT Technology teams to ensure that assigned systems meet the defined technical requirements by both customers and vendors to achieve optimal performance and availability. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible to understand and conform to HonorHealth's project and change management methodologies and may be responsible for leading low to moderate complexity projects leveraging this framework. In addition, this position requires an on-call rotation facilitating off hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.
 
Essential Functions 
<ul><li>
Ability to troubleshoot low to moderate complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management and leadership. Contributes to technical and workflow root cause analysis. Design, Test, Implement and support files/systems within assigned products and scope with minimal supervision. Populates tables and databases, for a domain with multiple owners, with some assistance from Vendor and Information Technology staff. Collaborates in an integrated approach to eliminate the potential for a negative impact to our customers and patients. Architects standardized enterprise naming, numbering, security conventions, and responsible for maintaining set standards of application system build and database maintenance. Monitors server performance, messaging performance, and performs troubleshooting of errors for multiple enterprise systems. Responsible for patch management of enterprise systems per policy to reduce security vulnerabilities. Performs diagnostic analysis, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks and servers.

Communicates effectively (written and oral) across all levels of the organization and has the ability to determine the appropriate forum for each method. Develops effective working relationships across HonorHealth and with vendor applications support personnel. This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional looking to build hands-on experience in system administration, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure operations. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior system administrators to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).</li><li>
Support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including basic VM provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.</li><li>
Perform routine system health checks, patching, and updates.</li><li>
Monitor system performance, disk usage, and availability using standard monitoring tools.</li><li>
Assist with user account management, group policies, and Active Directory tasks.</li><li>
Help troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-related issues.</li><li>
Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.</li><li>
Respond to service desk tickets and participate in on-call rotations as required.</li><li>
Follow IT security policies and best practices.</li></ul> 

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>
2+ years of experience in a systems administration or IT support role.</li><li>
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.</li><li>
Familiarity with VMware vSphere or other virtualization platforms.</li><li>
Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).</li><li>
Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.</li><li>
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Good communication and documentation skills.</li></ul>
Desired:<ul><li>
Experience with PowerShell scripting (basic level).</li><li>
Microsoft 365 and/or Azure fundamentals (AZ-900).</li><li>
Backup solutions (Veritas, Cohesity or similar).</li><li>
Patch management tools (Bigfix, or similar).</li><li>
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Fundamentals, VMware, VCTA or VCP.</li></ul> 

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.</div>
