What We Need</b></p><p>
The Program Extension Aide II will assist New York State Department of Environmental Conservation&rsquo;s Hudson River Estuary Program with monitoring and restoration efforts to improve the understanding on water resources within the Hudson River Estuary Watershed. This involves working within a multi-disciplinary team tasked with managing and protecting the Hudson River Estuary and its watershed through outreach and science partnerships with watershed groups, county agencies, municipalities, regional nonprofits, and other stakeholders.</p><p><br>
The Water Resource Technician will assist in preparation for field excursions, monitoring ambient water quality in rivers and streams, assessing potential barriers for aquatic organisms in waterways, planting streamside trees through the Hudson Estuary Trees for Tribs Program, and outreach about watershed protection and restoration.</p><p><br>

JOB DESCRIPTION:</b></div><div></div><div><br>
On a daily basis, the<b> Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper)</b> follows set routines to create and maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position shall provide cleaning services in assigned areas to maintain an orderly, aseptic physical environment.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</b> include but are not limited to:</div><ul><li>
Clean and sanitize common lounge areas, nursing stations, service areas, offices, and school building according to schedule and established procedures which attend to furniture, floors, light fixtures, vents, glass doors, etc.</li><li>
Clean restrooms and residents' rooms using the appropriate germicidal solutions</li><li>
Maintain orderly, clean, and stocked custodial closets and cleaning carts, assuring that doors are kept locked from resident access</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age</b></li><li>
Must be able to meet all training requirements, including Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training (training provided during new hire orientation)</li><li>
Must be able to meet the basic health requirements of hospital without restrictions</li><li>
Must possess physical stamina to stand the majority of shift and to lift and move equipment and supplies</li><li>
Physical demands require dexterity, good vision, ability to walk, stoop, bend, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally</li><li>
Previous experience required; previous hospital experience is preferred</li><li>
Must possess demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment with aptitude for attention to detail</li><li>
