Job DescriptionRole Overview:The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all critical systems of the entire CVD lab facility. This includes CVD reactors, gas generators, chillers, vacuum pumps, UPS, generators, and electrical connections. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering, and be proficient in maintaining complex laboratory equipment to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:1. CVD Equipment Maintenance:<ul><li>Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on all CVD reactors, gas delivery systems, vacuum pumps, mass flow controllers, hydrogen generator and other related equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal performance of CVD systems.</li></ul>2. Chillers and Cooling Systems:<ul><li>Maintain and troubleshoot industrial chillers, cooling towers, process pumps, air conditioning systems and associated temperature regulation systems to ensure proper functioning of equipment that requires stable thermal conditions.</li><li>Monitor fluid levels, pressure, and temperature to prevent overheating and downtime in sensitive CVD processes.</li></ul>3. Power Supply and Backup Systems:<ul><li>Ensure the reliability and functionality of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and backup generators, conducting routine inspections, battery tests, and load tests to prevent power interruptions.</li><li>Troubleshoot electrical faults, test power systems, and ensure correct operation of electrical switches, circuit breakers, and power distribution units.</li></ul>4. Electrical and Mechanical Systems Maintenance:<ul><li>Maintain and repair electrical connections, distribution panels, and circuit boards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and minimizing electrical failures.</li><li>Oversee the maintenance of pneumatic systems, compressors, and other mechanical equipment used in the lab.</li></ul>5. Equipment Troubleshooting and Fault Diagnosis:<ul><li>Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, performing diagnostics and root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues quickly.</li><li>Work with external service providers when necessary to ensure timely repairs and replacements.</li></ul>6. System Upkeep &amp; Monitoring:<ul><li>Regularly inspect and monitor the functionality of all laboratory systems, including cooling, power, gas flow, vacuum pumps etc, ensuring all equipment is operating within specified parameters.</li><li>Implement condition-based monitoring strategies and provide reports for continuous performance improvement.</li></ul>7. Documentation &amp; Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks.</li><li>Manage inventory for spare parts and equipment.</li><li>Supervision of maintenance related vendor projects.</li><li>Prepare maintenance schedules, track service requests, and report on equipment performance, compliance, and operational incidents.</li></ul>8. Safety &amp; Compliance:<ul><li>Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with laboratory safety protocols, environmental regulations, and operational standards.</li><li>Follow best practices for handling hazardous materials, including gases and chemicals, and ensure that all systems meet the required safety and compliance regulations.</li></ul>9. Collaboration, Training and Team management:<ul><li>Collaborate closely with laboratory scientists, engineers, and technicians to address equipment-related challenges and optimize operational efficiency.</li><li>Lead a team of technicians, prepare shift schedules, provide training and technical support to laboratory staff on the operation and basic troubleshooting of lab equipment and systems.</li></ul>10. Continuous Improvement:<ul><li>Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and reliability of lab equipment and infrastructure.</li><li>Suggest and implement improvements or upgrades to systems such as the electrical setup, UPS, or cooling systems to reduce downtime or enhance performance.</li></ul>Education:&deg; Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.&deg; Certification or training in industrial maintenance or electrical systems is a plus.Experience:&deg; Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in a high-tech laboratory or industrial setting.&deg; Experience with the maintenance and repair of CVD equipment, chillers, electrical systems, UPS, and generators.&deg; Familiarity with vacuum systems, gas handling, refrigeration, and HVAC systems is highly desirable.Skills &amp; Competencies:&deg; Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems, with expertise in industrial cooling systems and power supply systems (UPS, generators).&deg; Experience with preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting complex systems.&deg; Solid understanding of power distribution, wiring, circuit breakers, and electrical connections.&deg; Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.&deg; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.&deg; Proficiency in inventory management, scheduling, and maintenance reporting systems.&deg; Familiarity with lab safety standards and hazardous material handling.&deg; Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, meters, and lab equipment.&deg; Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail.Working Conditions:&middot; Full-time, on-site position in 24x7 running facility.&middot; This position may require standing for extended periods and working in a cleanroom environment&middot; Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required&middot; Exposure to high-voltage electrical systems, cooling equipment, chemicals, and laboratory machinery.&middot; Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and follow strict contamination control protocols.Job Location: Surat, GujratJob Type: Full-timePay: From &#8377;300,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Leave encashment</li></ul>Work Location: In person
