Located in South Central Virginia, <b>The Hughes Center</b> is a highly-structured psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth ages 10 to 22 with neurodevelopmental disorders. The Hughes Center also provides private, community-based educational services. We provide both individualized and holistic care for adolescents and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a nurturing, family-friendly environment. We utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to provide comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based treatment (and educational) interventions with the intent to increase each youth&rsquo;s level of functional independence. Our team also works diligently to address or manage medical conditions and challenging behaviors that are often associated with individuals who are diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. On a daily basis, the<b> Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper)</b> follows set routines to create and maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities:

   Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  </li>

   Sweeps, scrubs, mops and polishes floors.
  </li>
  <li>
   Vacuums carpets, rugs and draperies.
  </li>
  <li>
   Shampoos carpets, rugs and upholstery.
  </li>
  <li>
   Dusts and polishes furniture and fittings.
  </li>
  <li>
   Cleans metal fixtures and fittings.
  </li>
  <li>
   Empties and cleans trash containers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Disposes of trash in a sanitary manner.
  </li>
  <li>
   Cleans wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Wipes down glass surfaces.
  </li>
  <li>
   Makes up beds and changes linens as required.
  </li>

   Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
  </li>
  <li>
   Responds to guest queries and requests.
  </li>
  <li>
   Responds to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glasses.

   Contributes to team efforts; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow associates and others.

Qualifications</b><p><br>
Housekeeping Aide: Officially we title this job a Housekeeping Aide, but in other centers it may be called a Housekeeper, Janitor, Custodian, Environmental Services Assistant (EVS) or a Laundry Aide.</p><p><b>
What we need from you</b>:</p><ul><li>
At least <b>1 year similar experience in a medical / healthcare facility</b> or commercial cleaning setting <i>(strongly preferred)</i></li><li>
Must be 18 years of age or older AND hold a <b>High school diploma</b> or GED</li><li>
Basic computer skills</li><li>
Understanding of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) safety and sanitation rules</li><li>
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand <b>English</b></li><li>
Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and <b>background check</b>. This position will require extended periods of walking and standing to perform duties</li></ul><p>
