Position Summary</b></p><p>
The Water Jet Operator is a critical member of the Fabrication team, responsible for setting up, programming, and operating water jet (and laser, where applicable) equipment to produce high-quality components that meet engineering and customer requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Water Jet Operator directly supports production throughput, quality performance, and on-time delivery.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
</b><b> </b><b>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p><b>
A) Water Jet / Laser Operations</b></p><ul><li>
Set up, program, and operate water jet and laser cutting equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions.
</li><li>Select appropriate materials, tooling, and machine parameters to ensure quality and efficiency.
</li><li>Perform program prove-outs and make minor adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy.</li></ul><p><b>
B) Drawing Interpretation &amp; Quality</b></p><ul><li>
 Read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings exported from 3D SolidWorks models, including orthographic projections and part parameters.
</li><li>Inspect finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
</li><li>Identify nonconforming parts and communicate issues to the Fabrication Supervisor or Team Leader to support timely resolution.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
C) Secondary Operations &amp; Finishing</b></p><ul><li>
Perform basic secondary operations such as tapping, countersinking, and counterboring.
</li><li>Clean and deburr finished parts to meet quality and safety standards.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
D) Manufacturing Engineering Support</b></p><ul><li>
Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting fabrication and machining processes.</li><li>
Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard work.</li><li>
Support continuous improvement projects to reduce cycle time, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.</li><li>
Participate in design‑for‑manufacturability reviews with engineering.</li></ul><p><b>
E) Equipment Care &amp; Safety</b></p><ul><li>
Perform routine machine maintenance and required preventative maintenance tasks.

<ul><li>Prior work experience in machine operation in an industrial setting, with preference given to demonstrated experience using: Band Saw, 3/8 capacity CNC Metal Shear, brake press and CNC Plasma table.</li>

<div><div><p>Fabrication of all types of custom electric signs, including pylons, monuments, cabinets, push thru, reverse channel letters, interior and exterior signs.</p>
<p><b>
Responsibilities</b></p>
<p>
Efficiently fabricate custom electric signs that meet or exceed Sign Pro quality standards and timelines.</p>
<ul>
<li>Meet with project manager to review project details</li>
<li>Read and follow drawings, build sheet, materials lists</li>
<li>Fabricate the sign structure using specified material (steel or aluminum) to provided specs, using various saws, iron workers, mig welders, drills, grinders, etc.</li>
<li>fabricate and attach sheet metal skin using CNC routed parts, sheet metal stock by cutting and forming using a Turbo Bend Plus, hydraulic shear, various saws, grinders and tools</li>
<li>Prepare sign for paint using fillers, sanders and cleaners</li>
<li>Paint sign parts using a Matthews Paint System, LPHV paint gun, paint booth</li>
<li>Wire the sign according to the called out specs using various lighting methods, typically LEDs, but occasionally neon, following the UL requirements</li>
<li>Perform final assembly of sign</li>
</ul>
<p>Must perform the responsibilities safely and efficiently. Must keep your area organized and clean. Must perform routine maintenance on equipment. Must work well with coworkers.</p>

Qualifications</b></p>
<p>
Minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication, skills and experience includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>MIG welding</li>
<li>Sheet metal breaks &amp; shears</li>
<li>Iron worker</li>
<li>Sheetmetal tools</li>
<li>Metalworking tools, saws, various hand tools</li>
<li>forklift</li>
<li>painting</li>
<li>good communication skills</li>
<li>simple math</li>
<li>basic electrical knowledge</li></ul></div></div>
