 Job Overview
 
 
 
 The Facilitator functions as a remote instructor and service provider for intervention program clients. The facilitator will ensure that participants understand the course material, engage in interactive discussions, and meet the program's goals. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency with virtual learning tools, empathy, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of domestic violence dynamics. The Facilitator reports directly to Facilitator Coordinator.
 
 
 
 
 Compensation:
 
 
 In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
 
 
 
 Essential Functions And Objectives
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Conduct live, scheduled webinars utilizing curriculum on topics related to domestic violence prevention, parenting, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and accountability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Facilitate interactive, instructional webinars for clients by maintaining established norms and teaching program content. Foster a respectful, non-judgmental, and inclusive online learning environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow curriculum format for each webinar with compassionate and skilled delivery of concepts, strategies, and material.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide strategies to hold clients accountable. Provide feedback and guidance to participants on their performance and progress toward meeting course objectives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Encourage active participation by facilitating questions and discussions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor individual participation and address any disruptive behaviors. Monitor client behavior during webinars and alert Client Support regarding absences, no shows, suspected substance abuse, or breach of norms.

 Troubleshoot technical issues that participants may face during the webinar, ensuring smooth operation of the virtual learning platform.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain accurate attendance records. Complete weekly status report for each client&rsquo;s progress and review monthly summary data.
 </li>
 <li>
 Address any conflicts or challenges that may arise during sessions with professionalism and adherence to program guidelines.
 </li>
 <li>
 De-escalate situations of frustration or defensiveness using conflict resolution techniques.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and understand all course materials provided by the program and its objectives to effectively communicate the program's goals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform job functions in compliance with penal code.
 </li>
 <li>
 Work closely with the program coordinator and other facilitators to maintain the integrity of the course curriculum.

 Attend team meetings and contribute feedback to improve the program.

 Annual requirement of 16 CEUs, 8 must be specifically in Domestic Violence.

As a Family Time Facilitator, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide services and support to families involved in the child welfare system due to allegations of abuse and neglect. You will supervise family interactions in the community, DHS offices, and in the home, supporting families in rebuilding a sense of trust and connection. During these supervised visits, you will utilize a trauma informed lens to provide engaging parenting skills training, psychoeducation, and in the moment re-direction and parent coaching to promote the safe and successful reunification of families. Under the direction of the Clinical/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Coordinator, the Programs Facilitator administers a library of evidence-based cognitive behavioral programs and ensures those programs are delivered in the intended in-person and/or virtual format. This position is not covered as defined by The Board of Commissioners of the County of Allen Employee Handbook.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Facilitates evidence-based cognitive behavioral classes and ensures the content of the program curriculum is delivered in its intended format and the participants understand and relates to the required material.</li>
<li>Prepares necessary lesson plans, materials, supplies and instructional hardware to facilitate the program and recommends additional materials needed.</li>

<li>Observes and documents participant progress and forwards monthly report to referral sources and case managers, as needed.</li>
<li>Participates in staff meetings to determine appropriate responses to participant questions and concerns, share proposed changes in delivery or curriculum, discuss participant behavior, discuss classroom and E-Learning management strategies, and share insights on participant progress with other staff members.</li>
<li>Performs all other duties as assigned, including overtime as required.</li>
<li>Uses principles of evidence-based practices as a guide in interactions with program participants and in the development of department programs.</li>

REQUIREMENTS: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field required.</li>
<li>One year of experience in classroom facilitation and/or teaching preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of various theoretical approaches to adult education including cognitive, behavioral, and cognitive motivational theories.</li>
<li>Knowledge of criminal justice system operations</li>
<li>Ability to work remotely under limited supervision and with others in a cooperative team environment.</li>
<li>Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.</li>
<li>Strong management, organizational, leadership and teaching skills</li>
<li>Ability to be certified in Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS) Instrument Training/Application</li>
<li>Ability to be certified in Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral and Social Learning Theory</li>
<li>Ability to be certified in the facilitation of various CBT curricula.</li>
<li>The agency subscribes to the National Institute of Corrections’ Eight Principles of Effective Intervention (EBP), must be able to complete required Correctional EBP training programs and demonstrate competencies that focus on empirical recidivism risk reduction strategies</li>
<li>Strong computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office, ViaPath, E-learning program platforms, and any other job-related software.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to use electronic tablets and other personal computing devices, overhead projectors, DVD players, teleconferencing equipment, and other technology.</li>
<li>Knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices.</li>
<li>Must be able to work during hours most conducive to target population, which includes Monday through Friday, some nights, extended and/or irregular hours, and Saturdays, as scheduled.</li>
</ul>
DIFFICULTY OF WORK: 
The Programs Facilitator performs work that is broad in scope and of substantial intricacy when utilizing judgement in lesson preparation and adaptation of evidence-based cognitive behavioral programs. Judgment is needed to ensure that program delivery falls within the appropriate parameters set by Allen County Community Corrections (ACCC), which may require accommodation to meet the unique needs of the participants.
 
RESPONSIBILITY: 
The Programs Facilitator makes substantial contributions when preparing and administering evidence-based cognitive behavioral programs within generally structured guidelines and makes recommendations to staff to attain desired program results. Purpose and desired results are indicated, and unusual problems are discussed.
 
PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS: 
The Programs Facilitator maintains frequent contact with other County employees, Allen County Community Corrections (ACCC) staff, program participants, and other mental health and social service agencies regarding evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy programs, including CBT programming conducted through an E-learning platform.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS: 
The Programs Facilitator may work remotely and in an office and classroom environment with frequent contact with potentially dangerous, violent, and abusive program offenders convicted of various misdemeanor and felony offenses on a daily basis with the ability to move around freely, but frequently sitting, requiring some bending, kneeling, lifting up to forty pounds, reaching overhead and pushing and/or pulling loads. Very frequent typing, including proofreading and attention to detail, monitoring equipment and detailed inspection is required. A laptop, telephone headset, any required software, and access to other materials required for the position will be provided as needed.
