Monitors and reports clients' progress and provides service recommendations/referrals. Ensures that needed services are being provided, that treatment plans are being followed through in a timely manner and determines the appropriateness of the placement and services provided.</li><li>
Addresses child safety issues in the home to mitigate safety concerns; ensures that children in the department's custody or supervision receive necessary interventions.</li><li>
Provides crisis management and coordinates support services for clients to resolve problems and conflicts.</li><li>
Acts as a liaison for the DHS and consults with other caseworkers and community professionals on case situations, treatment/case plans, issues, and problems.</li><li>
Provides casework and assessment services for teams within the Practice Unit.</li><li>
Attends and testifies in court hearings and mediations as needed; completes appropriate paperwork, documentation, reports, reviews, etc. for court hearings monitors clients' compliance with court orders; serves temporary custody notices and petitions the court for verbal orders.</li><li>
Prepares for and participates in meetings and staffings.</li><li>
Documents all contacts and ensures that all paperwork and documentation are accurately completed and filed; completes necessary case information reports, inputs updates into database.</li><li>
Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, therapy, school, court hearings, pre-placement visits, etc.</li><li>
Ensures compliance with Federal, State and County laws, outcome measures, rules, and regulations; reviews cases to ensure case plans are developed and implemented.</li><li>

May be exposed to hostile family situations/individuals, and unsanitary and hazardous conditions. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own registered and insured personal vehicle to transport clients as needed; mileage reimbursement is available upon request. They work to reunify children who have been removed from their homes whenever possible or find enduring safety and permanency for them through alternative options. To accomplish this, caseworkers work closely with the subject matter experts, are provided with regular professional supervision, and complete DCFS Practice Model Training while performing the following tasks:</p><ul><li><p>

<div><p>The Income Maintenance Caseworker I is responsible for receiving FNS reviews, checking them for accuracy, sending DSS-8650 for needed information, and assisting in conducting the interview. In addition, the Income Maintenance Caseworker I will screen mail-in applications for emergency processing and assist with conducting the interview on some FNS applications as well as processing auto-newborn and presumptive Medicaid applications. The position requires the caseworker to take phone calls from FNS and Medicaid recipients and notify the on-going caseworker of changes reported by the recipient. They will update addresses, phone numbers, and record changed information in the NC FAST system. They must monitor and maintain continuous compliance with all the program requirements. They will open, attach, and task mail to the appropriate worker in the FNS and Medicaid units. The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will scan and attach mail into NC FAST, monitor the general agency e-mails and forward correspondence to the appropriate worker(s), monitor text communications and distribute it to the appropriate worker(s) as well as send out mass text messages as directed, and send and receive e-faxes and ensure the correspondence is sent to the appropriate worker(s). The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will resolve some agency reports such as FRR&rsquo;s for the IM Division. The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will handle completing Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation (NEMT) verifications and completing the no-show lists weekly to determine who has good cause and who does not and applying the NEMT suspension policy. They will take and process Energy Program applications. This consists of interviewing clients and collecting and verifying relevant eligibility requirements. Utilize NC FAST to gather and input information into the web database. Determine eligibility requirements based on the status of the heating/cooling systems of the home and the health status of the household members. Work with other community partners to provide referrals to the client when deemed necessary. Process Energy Program applications from a variety of sources including in-person, telephone, mail, ePASS, email and/or fax.</p></div>

Assistant Caseworkers help provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children between the ages of 0-20 who are in need of safety and care; and assist professional social staff by providing support with direct client services.
