Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>
Coordinator for the Masters in Professional Studies - Parasitology (MPS)
</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate with the Graduate School to communicate admissions decisions and prepare and send admission and rejection letters to applicants.</li><li>
Work with faculty and students to develop individualized curriculum plans that support full- or part-time study and align with students&rsquo; academic and professional goals.</li><li>
Monitor student progress, provide guidance and resources, and communicate any concerns to the Program Director.</li><li>
Manage teaching materials, grading processes, and program evaluation and feedback mechanisms.</li><li>
Serve as the primary point of contact for the program, monitoring the program email account and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.</li><li>
Maintain and update the MPS Program website and related communications materials.</li><li>
Serve as the Graduate Field Assistant (GFA) and student services representative, advocating for student needs and addressing program-related questions or concerns.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Course Coordination &amp; Administrative Support for the Department</b></p><ul><li>
Support the administration of the department&rsquo;s undergraduate Program of Study (POS) and related courses.</li><li>
Serve as a liaison with the Office of the University Registrar, the Office of Undergraduate Biology, and other campus partners to coordinate course logistics and student enrollment.</li><li>
Coordinate departmental course offerings for the annual Courses of Study and Course Roster listings.</li><li>
Assist with assigning students to faculty advisors and coordinating cross-listed courses and other departmental teaching activities.</li><li>
Manage teaching materials, grading processes, and course evaluation and feedback mechanisms.</li><li>
Coordinate departmental journal club activities.</li></ul><p></p><p><i>
This is a full-time (39 hours/week), three-year term Contract College position based in Ithaca, NY, with the possibility of extension. This position follows a 4:1 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. </b></p><p>The Department of Microbiology &amp; Immunology comprises an interactive faculty engaged in research &amp; teaching in infectious disease and the host immune response. Our immunology interests include innate and adaptive responses to pathogenic agents, immune regulation, vaccine development, and host damage due to inflammation and autoimmunity.</p><p><b><br>

<div><p>This position is responsible for assisting the SWCD staff with field work, including site inspections, easement and contract spot checks, and ditch buffer inspections.
</p><p></p><p><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</b></p><ul><li>
Works closely with the Resource Specialist, Conservation Specialist, and Water Quality Technician to plan and map required site inspections and spot checks.</li><li>
Works closely with the Administrative Assistant and District Administrator to ensure the proper collection, recording, filing and reporting of information on easements, contracts, buffer strips, and projects.</li><li>
Conducts spot checks on easements, buffers, and soil health contracts, either with a member of SWCD staff or alone, and collect and transcribe the required information.
</li><li>Provides information to the public and directs inquiries to the appropriate SWCD or partner agency staff member.</li><li>
Posts easement signage.</li><li>
Assist with water quality project boundary staking.</li><li>
Perform well monitoring inspections.</li><li>
Performs all duties according to established safety procedures.</li><li>
Maintains an effective working relationship with all employees.</li></ul><p>

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT</b></p><p>
The position has reasonable and safe working conditions in general but requires the proper use of on-road and off-road driving safety. This position is subject to undesirable working conditions at times including weather extremes, dust, dirt, and farm chemicals.</p><p>
The individual may encounter moderate emotional strain or tension and will constantly be exposed to sitting, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) and other environmental conditions normally present in both an office and an agricultural setting.</p><p>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><p><b>
EDUCATION</b></p><ul><li>
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
</li></ul><p><b>EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED</b></p><ul><li>
Working knowledge of State and Federal conservation programs and conservation farming methods.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of motor vehicle operation, side-by-side operation, and trailer use.</li><li>
The ability to effectively and safely perform land inspections, including ability to walk long distances over rough terrain and the ability and willingness to approach and communicate with landowners.</li></ul><ul><li>
The ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with others.</li><li>
Working knowledge of computer mapping systems such as ArcGIS and ability to read maps and plat books.</li><li>
Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul></div>
