Position Overview
 Concorde Education is seeking an engaging, student-centered Traditional Art Instructor to facilitate a short-format after-school enrichment course for students. This course introduces and develops traditional art techniques through hands-on projects that encourage creativity, self-expression, and skill growth across grade levels.
 
Instruction should be developmentally appropriate for the assigned grade band. Younger students will focus on foundational art concepts and basic technique practice, while older students will explore more advanced methods and build toward stronger conceptual understanding and personal artistic style. The instructor will deliver instruction one day per week for approximately one hour across a typical 10-week cycle, with pacing adapted to student needs and site logistics.
 
What You Will Teach
 Students will explore traditional visual art techniques beginning with core fundamentals such as line, shape, color, and composition, progressing toward more refined drawing and painting skills. Depending on grade level, students may also practice shading, proportion, texture, perspective, mixed media approaches, and critique routines that support artistic growth and reflection.

Job Summary/Basic Function</h4>

The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#144190) at the rank of lecturer in Video and Film Production. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually, subject to available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed through annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach a combination of multi-camera television production classes, both in the studio and on location. In addition, the successful candidate will teach equipment operation, various crew production roles, and aspects of program crewing, creation, producing, and directing. Class projects may include, but are not limited to, live sports TV production, studio and on-location TV music concerts and live events, and various studio-based programs. This faculty member needs a mixture of technical knowledge and program creative creation knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of aspects of video and film production, including, but not limited to, preproduction, production, and postproduction of video technologies, as well as aesthetics, history, and theory.

Required Education</h4>

A terminal degree in film and video production or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. A master's degree with three (3) years of full-time or part-time, consistent freelance professional experience or a bachelor's degree with five (5) years of full-time or part-time, consistent freelance professional experience will be accepted in lieu of a terminal degree. 

To receive credit for equivalent full-time, project-based work, applicants must list each project, including the project's length, individually on their CVs (r&eacute;sum&eacute;s).

Applicants with experience in live production, technical hardware and software, and operational knowledge of switchers, graphics, LED, and systems will receive special consideration.
