Find your future with us. </p><p>The BGS F/A-18 Structural Analysis team is responsible for supporting new source stand up, modifications, repairs and spares production support of the F/A-18 Legacy Hornet and Super Hornet, F-15, T-45 and AV-8B. The selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. Team members will work with cross-functional teams including representatives from Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Technical Integration, Supplier Management, Production Operations, and Program Management. </p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li> Conduct detailed stress analyses of aircraft primary structures using well defined analysis tools</li><li> Verification of structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop and maintain the characteristics and performance of the components.</li><li> Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.</li><li>Assist in the development of test plans, support test execution to validate systems and components meet requirements and specifications.</li><li>Support on-going supplier and customer activities by providing real-time support.</li><li> Works under general direction.</li></ul><p><b> Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): </b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.</li><li>5+ years' experience in structural analysis.</li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, material characteristics, and repair techniques)</li><li>Experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools. Experience independently constructing, executing, reviewing, and managing structural finite element models using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Stress Check, Mechanica, etc.</li><li>Good technical writing skills, particularly in strength analysis reporting</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex, nuanced results in a clear, concise manner that is easily understood by a wide audience</li><li>Capable of performing tasks independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally</li></ul><p><b> Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): </b></p><ul><li>10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>5+ years' experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools.
