<p>We are seeking a qualified Duty Officer to serve at the rank of Fire Captain or Fire Apparatus Engineer. The successful candidate will fill one of the three shift positions that provide 24/7 staffing for the District. Minimum qualifications for either rank is certification as an Emergency Medical Technician by the Coastal Valleys EMS Agency, ICS100, ICS200, IS700-NIMS, S-130, S-190 and L-180. Additional requirements are possession of a valid California Class B driver's license or equivalent DMV firefighter&rsquo;s endorsement and be insurable. The Fire Captain position is a supervisory and skilled firefighting officer that requires a minimum of five (5) years of firefighting experience.</p><p>Overtime is compensated per the Fair Labor Standards Act. The District offers paid time off, retirement contributions and health insurance benefits.</p><p>The RVCFD provides all-risk fire protection services to its 60.5 square miles of unincorporated communities. About the Role:<br>
The Security &amp; Emergency Management Division is responsible for ensuring that Fermilab&rsquo;s employees and natural resources remain unharmed. Fermilab has an excellent opportunity for a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician to work in the Fire Department. Under the supervision and direction of the Battalion Chief and Fire Lieutenant, performs firefighting duties, emergency medical care, hazardous material and technical rescue response, fire prevention inspections, and other tasks.</div><div></div><div>
What your day-to-day as a Fire Fighter at Fermilab will look like:</div><ul><li>
Performs firefighting duties, emergency medical care, hazardous material response and mitigation, and fire prevention inspections.</li><li>
Responds to emergency calls throughout the Laboratory and offsite as requested.</li><li>
Combats and extinguishes fires, administers emergency medical care, and assists in mediating HAZMAT incidents plus provides tunnel rescue services and maintains associated specialized equipment.</li><li>
Performs fire prevention tasks including building and valve inspections, testing of alarms and sprinklers, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and hoses.</li><li>
Maintains and operates emergency response apparatus, including fire vehicles and ambulances.</li><li>
Participates in ongoing training, drills, and upkeep of firefighting equipment.</li><li>
Assumes role of acting Lieutenant in the absence of senior officers.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li><li>
