</p><p>The Skywalker Fire Brigade Fire Chief (FC) position will supervise, lead, and train the Skywalker Fire Brigade (Department). This is a management position for 9 employees that staffs one private fire station and has the opportunity to build and direct a motivated staff of firefighters. The Fire Chief will oversee three duty Captains and their projects, providing guidance and leadership for the organization. The Fire Chief will oversee daily schedules with regard to standard prevention activities, training, and special events. Oversee fire prevention inspections, lead vegetation management projects including pile burning, shaded fuel breaks, and interact with the property insurance agent and facilities manager for future projects. The Chief will represent the Skywalker Fire Brigade during county-wide meetings for Operations and Training. Skywalker Fire employees provide an extraordinary level of customer service and hospitality to Skywalker Properties' clientele. While this role operates within a Brigade fire department, the position itself is mostly comprised of prevention and training. Skywalker Holdings has several locations. The Fire Brigade operates at The Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, Nicasio, CA. Skywalker is a private organization that operates 5,000 acres of wildland urban interface land with various types of infrastructure within it. At the Presidio (San Francisco, CA) there are numerous buildings that are also included in the prevention responsibilities. The Ranch operates numerous buildings, smaller organization and other operations within the that support the greater vision of Skywalker Properties Ltd.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Schedule:</b></p><p>
This position will work a semi-flexible 40hr work week as to oversee and manage 3 shifts who are on a 48/96 work schedule. Flexibility is determined by the President and subject to department need as well attending any critical meetings with leadership teams. Remote work hours may be included in the flexibility.</p><p>
Although rare, there are times when the Chief might have to back-fill staffing and/or provide staffing on apparatus due to non-fillable vacancies or training needs.</p><p><b>

<p><b>Job Overview</b><br/>Under the general direction of the City Administrator, the Fire Chief is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department. This is a single incumbent, executive management classification. The Fire Chief&rsquo;s duties are administrative and managerial in nature, and the incumbent performs work that is very complex, with broad authority for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department as well as responsibility for Department&rsquo;s strategic planning and goal setting. The incumbent has extensive contact with public officials, State/Federal/local agencies, other public and private organizations and the public. The incumbent exercises a high level of independent authority, working from broad policies to achieve objectives critical to the Department&rsquo;s mission. The classification of Fire Chief is distinguished from the classification of Deputy Chief - Fire by its level and degree of responsibility for the broad oversight of all Department functions.

<b>About Chico Fire Department:</b>
<br>
The Department serves the community from 4 fire stations spread throughout the community, staffed by 3 shifts totaling 79 firefighters and 1 battalion chief per day. All response personnel are minimally trained as firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Furthermore, the Department is supported by 1 Fire Marshal, 3 prevention personnel and 3 professional administrative staff civilian positions and a FY2025-26 operating budget of $16.5 million.<br>
<br>
The Department maintains strong automatic- and mutual-aid partnerships to the surrounding unincorporated areas through the Chico Urban Area Fire and Rescue Agreement. In 2025, the Department responded to 16,430 calls for service, an increase of 2,273 calls since 2023.<br>
<br>
In addition to four fire stations, the Fire Chief is responsible for overseeing a Fire Training Center and over 30 pieces of modern emergency apparatus with a 33-square mile service area. The Department also fields specialized teams for technical rescues, drowning accidents, hazardous materials response, SCBA repair and fire origin &amp; cause investigations.

The ideal candidate will be an operational, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable commanding complex incidents as managing personnel, budgets, and strategic goals.</p><p><b>About the Department</b></p><p>The North Sioux City Fire Department serves a population of approximately 8,000 residents across 25 square miles, with a daytime population exceeding 15,000. The Fire Chief directs, manages, and oversees all activities of the Fire Department in order to ensure 24-hour emergency service to the citizens of Pocatello and Bannock County. Activities of the department include, but are not limited to, fire &amp; EMS response, community risk reduction, code enforcement, fire investigation, training, maintenance of facilities and apparatus, and general public safety.</p><p>
As an Appointed Position under general direction from the Mayor and City Council, work is performed within policies and administrative regulations with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment. The incumbent is responsible for establishing major departmental policies, implementing strategic planning, and making executive-level decision in alignment with the direction of the organization as defined by the Mayor and City Council. The incumbent also serves as the Chief Administrator of the Bannock County Ambulance District and reports to the Bannock County Board of Commissioners. The incumbent works primarily in an office environment where exposure to hazards is minimal, however, there is a possibility for exposure to unpredictable hazards and extremes of weather when serving as incident commander at a major emergency.</p></li><li>
