The department has a First Responder program and contracts with the City of De Pere Fire Rescue and County Rescue for ambulance response and transport. The response area for the town covers roughly 17.22 square miles and includes residential, commercial, and rural areas. The Town of Ledgeview Fire Department participates in MABAS Division 112, which covers all of Brown County, Wisconsin, allowing fire departments to use pre-determined resource requests with efficient dispatching to respond to emergency and planned events within the county and beyond.</p><p><b>Role Responsibilities</b></p><p>The Fire Chief provides leadership and direction for the Town of Ledgeview&rsquo;s Fire Department, overseeing all fire service operations, personnel, budgeting, training, and compliance with municipal and state codes. The ideal candidate will be an operational, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable commanding complex incidents as managing personnel, budgets, and strategic goals.</p><p><b>About the Department</b></p><p>The North Sioux City Fire Department serves a population of approximately 8,000 residents across 25 square miles, with a daytime population exceeding 15,000. The department responds to an average of 900 calls annually, providing comprehensive fire suppression, EMS, rescue, and prevention services.</p><p>Operating under the Dakota Valley Emergency Services District (DVESD), NSCFD functions as a combination department consisting of paid and volunteer personnel who work together to protect the community. The department operates out of two stations and a newly opened William D. Pappas Training Facility, which supports advanced live-fire, technical rescue, and other training programs.</p><p>Administrative leadership includes a Fire Marshal, Operations Manager, and EMS Director, all of whom report to the Fire Chief. </p><p>The Skywalker Fire Brigade Fire Chief (FC) position will supervise, lead, and train the Skywalker Fire Brigade (Department). This is a management position for 9 employees that staffs one private fire station and has the opportunity to build and direct a motivated staff of firefighters. The Fire Chief will oversee three duty Captains and their projects, providing guidance and leadership for the organization. The Fire Chief will oversee daily schedules with regard to standard prevention activities, training, and special events. Oversee fire prevention inspections, lead vegetation management projects including pile burning, shaded fuel breaks, and interact with the property insurance agent and facilities manager for future projects. The Chief will represent the Skywalker Fire Brigade during county-wide meetings for Operations and Training. <b>About Chico Fire Department:</b>

The Department serves the community from 4 fire stations spread throughout the community, staffed by 3 shifts totaling 79 firefighters and 1 battalion chief per day. All response personnel are minimally trained as firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Furthermore, the Department is supported by 1 Fire Marshal, 3 prevention personnel and 3 professional administrative staff civilian positions and a FY2025-26 operating budget of $16.5 million.<br>

The Department maintains strong automatic- and mutual-aid partnerships to the surrounding unincorporated areas through the Chico Urban Area Fire and Rescue Agreement. In 2025, the Department responded to 16,430 calls for service, an increase of 2,273 calls since 2023.<br>

In addition to four fire stations, the Fire Chief is responsible for overseeing a Fire Training Center and over 30 pieces of modern emergency apparatus with a 33-square mile service area.
