During the assigned shift, the Fire &amp; Emergency Services Technician is responsible for responding to fire, medical, technical rescue, and hazardous material related emergencies. The Fire &amp; Emergency Services Technician will support assigned site daily operations, public education and safety training and support cross functional teams as required.</div> 

What You'll Do<div><ul><li>
Respond to emergencies at Tesla properties and effectively minimize losses through fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, technical rescue standby&rsquo;s/responses and any other emergency situations that occur

Provide basic/advanced life support during medical emergencies associated with trauma, chemical exposure, or medical emergencies 
</li><li>
Collaborate with On Site Medical (OSM) team to ensure the best possible patient care and outcome, support On Site Medical staff augmentation as required 
</li><li>
Support stakeholders with emergency action plans, emergency drills, and emergency communication 
</li><li>
Provide detailed verbal, written, and computer reports pertaining to condition and care of patients and incident reports as required 
</li><li>
Support fire and life safety inspections. Support EHS Specialists with safety concerns and assist with coordination of safety supplies (first aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.)

Safely and efficiently operates emergency response and powered industrial vehicles</li></ul></div>

INTRODUCTION:
The Natural Resource Fire Technician I (FFT1) is a key leadership position within the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI) Fire Management Program. This role provides direction and oversight for wildfire hazard mitigation, prescribed fire, wildfire suppression, and emergency response operations across Tribal and non-Tribal jurisdictions. The incumbent is responsible for leading fire management personnel and resources in accordance with Tribal priorities, safety protocols, and National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) standards, while supporting the stewardship and protection of Tribal Natural Resources.
Natural Resources Fire Technician II- (FFT2) supports the Tribal Natural Resources Department in managing, preventing, and suppressing wildfires on Tribal lands. This role combines hands-on firefighting, field operations, and safety compliance with respect for Tribal culture and natural resources. The FFT2 works closely with the Natural Resources Fire Technician I to protect communities, ecosystems, and cultural sites while following National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) standards and Tribal policies
DUTIES:
Fire Program<ul><li>
 Natural Resources Fire Tech I - Available for a variety of fire, forestry, and natural resource management duties. Expected to be prepared to engage and supervise work on and around engines, tenders, fire crews, dispatch, lookout, helicopters, dozers, and other fire control tools and equipment. Prepared to engage and supervise on planned and un-planned wildfire events, including protecting reservation, federal, state, public, and private lands</li><li>
 Natural Resources Fire Tech I - Serves as a lead wildland firefighter setting the example of basic fire management duties, practices, techniques, and terminology. Tasks include tracking daily weather and fire behavior trends, leading control line installation, use of pumps, hose lines, chainsaw operations, use of ignition devices, and off road vehicles. May work in and around fire suppression aircraft such as helicopters, lead planes, and air tankers. Will participate and/or lead daily physical fitness activities, and adhere to safety standards.</li><li>
 Natural Resources Fire Tech I - Serves in leadership position on burn crew to reduce fuel hazards, and restore fire adapted ecosystems for cultural utilization and native habitat restoration.</li><li>
 Ensure utilization of proper personal protective equipment to mitigate safety hazards.</li><li>
 Participates in fire and safety training, radio use, vehicle operation, and medical emergency scenarios. Performs and oversees daily crew and vehicle proficiency checks and drills. Engages in safety sessions and after action reviews.</li><li>
 Moves dirt, chops brush, and cut trees to construct fire-line using hand tools. Control fire spread, prepare holding lines, participate in back fire and burn out operations.</li><li>

 Clear roads of brush, debris and small landslides using chainsaws and hand tools.</li><li>

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:
Natural Resources Fire Technician I (TL119) High School Diploma or GED. FFT1 and/or ICT5 required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be CPR/First Aid certified or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Safe chainsaw operation in accordance with NWCG S-212 standards and Tribal safety policies, preferred. Single Resource Boss (SRB) required. Must have completed all NWCG training and qualifications related to the position.
Natural Resources Fire Technician II (TL118) High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age. The incumbent must be CPR/First Aid certified or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Must complete a medical screening, and successfully pass the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) Work Capacity Test within six months of hire. Must become a certified Fire fighter Type 2 (FFT2) and chainsaw operator (FAL3) within six months of hire.
Knowledge of:<ul><li>
 Wildland firefighting, structural firefighting, forestry, emergency response, landscaping, operating power tools or heavy equipment, construction, wilderness EMT, or other specialty skills sets.</li><li>
 Natural Resource management, including forest health, fuels reduction, watershed protection, and habitat conservation.</li><li>
 Understanding of tribal land management practices and cultural resource protection when conducting fire suppression or fuels management operations.-Preferred</li><li>

Job Duties:

Coordinates daily with Lead Fire/Fuels Technician and Fire Program Coordinator to determine daily tasks and objectives. Assists with project assessments which determine the presence or absence of hazardous Wildland fuels. Information and field conditions and predictions of fire behavior are collected through a variety of methods, including field surveys, computer modeling and specific academic research papers and professional literature sources. All results are reported to the Lead Fire/Fuels Technician who will report them to the relevant parties. Reviews project plans and makes recommendations on appropriate levels of monitoring. Establishes study plots to assess fire and fire suppression impacts on the ecosystem. Develops and refines plot characteristics, frequency of visits, subjects to be measured and data storage and analysis. Serves on prescribed fire and fuels projects, in positions for which qualified. Technically administers and carries out all assigned aspects of the prescribed fire/fuels plan, ensuring the preparation, ignition, holding, mop-up, and rehabilitation are competed to standards specified. Conducts field reconnaissance of prescribed fire/fuels treatment units, summarizes field findings and makes recommendations on appropriate criteria for meeting program objective. Participates in Wildland fire and safety training in the techniques, practices, and methods of fire suppression activities, with emphasis on those used for the particular function assigned. Participates in preparedness reviews, proficiency checks and drills, safety sessions, and after action reviews (AAR). Ensures own and other's welfare and safety in all aspects of the assignment. Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
