 POSITION SUMMARYThe Town of Holly Springs is searching for a Certified Firefighter I/Firefighter II (Relief Driver). Firefighter I- This position is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service to protect the life and property of citizens within the community, including Fire, EMS, Technical Rescue, and Hazardous Materials response.  What Will You Do<ul><li>
Conduct &ldquo;quarterly inspections of fueling facilities and/or airport refueling tankers to maintain 14 CFR Part 139 requirements.</li><li>
Respond to airport standby, fire and crash alarms and supervises and assists Firefighters at the fire scene.</li><li>
Inspect fire apparatus, equipment, station, fuel, and the surrounding grounds to ensure proper order conditions.</li><li>
Drive aircraft firefighting and rescue vehicles to crash scenes or to prearranged runway positions in anticipation of disabled aircraft landing.</li><li>
Operate vehicle turret nozzles and pumping equipment to spray foam onto runway surface to minimize danger of explosion or fire upon impact and applies water and chemicals to aircraft after landing to prevent extinguish flames.</li><li>
Respond to water rescues.</li><li>
Rescue aircraft crewmembers and passengers from wreckage using specialized cutting equipment and administers first aid to the injured.</li><li>
Perform first-response structural firefighting and rescue work on Airport property and establish fire-lines to secure crash areas from unauthorized entry.</li><li>
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on firefighting and rescue equipment, conduct training sessions and exercise and reviews and prepare shift and incident records and reports.</li><li>
Monitor and operate Airport Protective Service radio and telephone communications equipment in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.</li><li>
Schedule leave for personnel and write annual performance appraisals.</li><li>

The Airport Public Safety Officer I is responsible for the safety and security of passengers, employees, and property at the Corpus Christi International Airport by enforcing local, state, and federal laws and regulations in addition to responding to all medical and fire emergencies. This position requires the ability to utilize critical thinking and communication skills to work as part of a team or as an individual to respond to and resolve incidents. The Airport Public Safety Officer I will be required to achieve and maintain four state certifications as a Peace Officer (TCOLE), Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (TCFP), Structural Fire Fighter (TCFP), and Emergency Medical Technician (TDH/National Registry) as well as to meet the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Responsibilities
&middot; Responds to all emergencies involving aircraft inbound/outbound and in proximity to the Airport, as required in the Airport Emergency Plan
&middot; Drive specialized fire fighting vehicles with elevated water ways to landing or crash sites on paved and unimproved surfaces
&middot; Applies necessary extinguishing agents and conducts fire suppression in critical areas establishing fire control while performing rescue of victims
&middot; Responsible for other duties of firefighting such as search and rescue, structural fires, vehicular accidents, hazardous materials incidents including fuel spills, and brush fires

&middot; Responsible for all law enforcement services at the Airport including the enforcement of local state, and federal laws and regulations equally, regardless of race, color, creed, or sexual orientation
&middot; Actively patrols and directs patrol (on foot and/or in a vehicle), concentrating on areas controlled by TSA regulations (i.e. security checkpoint, ramps, gates, etc.) and the Aviation Department, to detect, investigate, and deter felony and misdemeanor violations, other misconduct, and possible security violations of local ordinances and federal regulations
&middot; Responsible for the protection of persons and property
&middot; Assists in the preparation of felony and misdemeanor cases for filing charges and testifying in court
&middot; Must be able to respond to personally sensitive calls such as child custody, missing persons, or domestic violence
&middot; Arrests and detains suspects by employing the level of force necessary to control individuals in warranted circumstances, handcuffing, and searching individuals, advising individuals of their Miranda rights when required, completing the necessary reports, and transporting to the appropriate detention facility

&middot; Complies with all training requirements to maintain Texas Peace Officer license
