RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p>

The firefighter is the initial classification within the Fire Department. Individuals in this classification normally work under the supervision of a Fire Lieutenant or Fire Captain. The primary responsibilities of a Firefighter are to respond to emergencies, to combat and extinguish fires, provide medical treatment to victims, perform rescues, and do other duties that may be required. Individuals in this classification must be proficient in driving the apparatus to which they are assigned and knowledgeable of the location and operating procedures of all equipment assigned to that apparatus. Industrial Emergency Response Tech II

<div><div>Under direction of the Fire Lieutenant or above, the Vallen Firefighter will perform a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks and functions in support of fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials, emergency medical and other emergency services. Firefighters will inspect, test, provide maintenance and repairs to Life Safety Equipment to include fire extinguishers, hoses, monitors, respirators (SCBA), etc. Vallen Firefighters will also provide appropriate documentation ensuring accurate testing and repair.</div>

<ul><li>Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents; provide appropriate services as required including emergency rescue and fire suppression; perform search and rescue for trapped or injured persons; perform emergency medical and first aid services as needed; prepare reports regarding emergency incidents as assigned.</li>
<li>Participate in a variety of fire prevention operations, activities and programs including training, fire investigations; equipment operation and maintenance; participate in activities in response to natural disasters, incidents involving hazardous materials, and other emergency situations.</li>

<li>Perform Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of emergency response equipment as well as installed life safety systems in accordance with Vallen and Customer SOP's.</li>

<li>Maintain and track EMS supplies and inventory.</li>
<li>Report inventory supply levels to the Fire Lieutenant</li>

<br><b>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</b> To protect life and property by controlling and extinguishing fires, performing first response emergency medical techniques and patient care procedures, responding to disasters and other emergencies.
