The Airport Public Safety Officer I is responsible for the safety and security of passengers, employees, and property at the Corpus Christi International Airport by enforcing local, state, and federal laws and regulations in addition to responding to all medical and fire emergencies. This position requires the ability to utilize critical thinking and communication skills to work as part of a team or as an individual to respond to and resolve incidents. The Airport Public Safety Officer I will be required to achieve and maintain four state certifications as a Peace Officer (TCOLE), Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (TCFP), Structural Fire Fighter (TCFP), and Emergency Medical Technician (TDH/National Registry) as well as to meet the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Minimum Qualifications

<ul><li>A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

&middot; Class B Exempt Driver&rsquo;s license
&middot; Texas Commission on Fire Protection &ndash; Structural Fire
&middot; Texas Commission on Fire Protection &ndash; Aircraft Rescue Fire
&middot; Texas Department of Health &ndash; Emergency Medical Technician Basic
&middot; Texas Commission on Law enforcement &ndash; Peace Officer
Employee must remain employed by the City as an Airport Public Safety Officer for at least two years after the probationary period ends.
