JOB DESCRIPTION
Fire Protection Design Manager
This position is a great opportunity for a Designer that desires to grow within a great industry and company like International Fire Protection. This individual will lead a group of 3 &ndash; 5 fire sprinkler designers by providing knowledge, support, and training. He or she will work closely with the Division Leaders to schedule and coordinate design. This position is responsible for planning and directing the accomplishments of the design department objectives, as well as performing a wide variety of duties required to maintain the efficient, day-to-day operations of direct reports of the department within the office. 
 
The Fire Protection Design Manager should be a self-starter possessing time management, scheduling, staff management and leadership skills and experience. This individual will both perform and oversee the performance of design and coordination for fire sprinkler systems. There will also be growth opportunities through company sponsored leadership development courses and trainings. This individual will also be required to lead by example. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Support a group of 3-5 fire sprinkler designers by providing leadership and training.</li>
<li>Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project&rsquo;s sprinkler system.</li>
<li>Thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities.</li>
<li>Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or HydraCAD type programs.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other trades using BIM/3D modeling.</li>
<li>Create stock list for all material required throughout the project.</li>
<li>Perform hydraulic calculations.</li>
<li>Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work.</li>
<li>Maintain design historical records for future use.</li>
<li>Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure the company is meeting customers&rsquo; expectations.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information.</li>
<li>Complete other assigned responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor or other IFP management personnel.</li>
<li>Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines.</li>
<li>Assist/lead during field check stage of the project.</li>

Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Principal Fire Engineer / Principal Consultant to join our growing Middle East team, based in Dubai, UAE .This strategic senior level role will support a diverse portfolio of projects across the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, including some of the region's most complex and high-profile developments and will combine deep technical expertise in fire and life safety engineering with strong leadership, commercial awareness, and client management capabilities. Position Summary: Candidates will have the desire to help others, protect the lives and property of the 190th Air Refueling Wing and surrounding communities. Individuals will perform as part of a team while responding to emergencies, training events, performing inspections, and education programs. Performs firefighting and emergency medical services including, but not limited to, fire prevention, control and extinguishment, aircraft responses, hazmat incidents, driving and operating firefighting apparatus and emergency vehicles, rescue, medical treatment, training, public education, and station and apparatus maintenance duties.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Responds to a wide variety of emergency alarms, such as structural and environmental fires, traffic accidents, natural gas leaks, medical emergencies and hazardous material spills. Fights fires under departmental procedures and as directed by a fire company officer; connects and lays hose lines, sets ladders and operates fire streams; uses hand and power tools to ventilate and enter burning structures for the purpose of extinguishing fires and to perform search and rescue operations; raises, lowers and climbs ladders to enter structures; performs salvage, clean up and overhaul operations during and after fires to remove hazards and protect property.
Provides first responder medical emergency response at the basic life support level, including initial patient and situation assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma emergency medical care; prepares patients and assists paramedics in advanced life support emergency medical care.
Participates in specialized rescue operations, including high angle and underground situations involving the use of rigging and shoring; operates specialized hand and power tools and equipment to rescue traffic accident victims.
Cleans, services and makes minor repairs to ensure the operational readiness of vehicles, apparatus, hoses and emergency equipment; participates in the cleaning, repair and upkeep of department buildings, grounds and facilities.
Participate in drills, demonstrations and courses in firefighting techniques, equipment and apparatus operation, medical aid, hazardous materials, fire prevention, equipment maintenance; studies local geography and conditions affecting fire operations; studies and learn departmental operating procedures.

Position is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
Up to a $5,000 Sign-On-Bonus based on experience.
 
The FIRE SPRINKLER FOREMAN is to deliver quality products and services which meet or exceed the customer's and industry standards, and to achieve customer satisfaction through a unified commitment to job competency and unsurpassed service.
 
Job Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Assist with the performance of routine service and maintenance of fire sprinkler/standpipe systems and related equipment.</li>
<li>Assist with the performance of flow tests, fire pump tests, hydrostatic tests, main drain tests, trip test dry valves, and test hydrants.</li>
<li>Operate Rigid power machine and thread and groove pipe, as well as proper head spacing.</li>
<li>Accurately complete and return all field paperwork on time.</li>
<li>Be available for off-hour emergency service calls and the on-call schedule assigned.</li>
<li>Report all accidents, mishaps and/or customer complaints immediately.</li>
<li>Interface with customers to explain work to be performed, answer their questions and address their concerns in a knowledgeable and respectful manner.</li>
<li>Provide accurate and complete information on reports</li>
<li>Manage time including time on the job as well as time on road to job sites.</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>3 - 5 years related fire sprinkler installation and service experience</li>
<li>OSHA Safety Training (Preferred)</li>
</ul>
Licensing: 
<ul>
<li>Backflow Preventer Certification (Preferred)</li>
<li>Ability to work independently with limited supervision.</li>
<li>Demonstrate integrity, honesty.</li>
<li>Mechanical skills and aptitude.</li>
<li>Demonstrate problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Good communication skills (written and verbal). Able to interact with all levels being served.</li>
</ul>
Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
