Position Summary 
We are seeking an Experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our Sanford (Orlando) office. This role is responsible for producing accurate design documents that clearly communicate system scope and requirements to installation personnel. The Designer will perform detailed design work and may provide direction to other team members as assigned. 
What We&rsquo;re Looking For

<li>Minimum of 2 years of fire sprinkler design experience with a design/build fire sprinkler contractor (required)</li>
<li>Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD software</li>
<li>Strong understanding of fire sprinkler materials, tools, equipment, and installation processes</li>
<li>Working knowledge of NFPA standards and applicable codes</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent (higher education or NICET certification a plus)</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and ability to meet company insurance requirements</li>

Fire Sprinkler Designer

This individual will design, coordinate, and possibly project manage the fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Will design and create the finished representation for the sprinkler systems using drawing and drafting skills and tools. The drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office. The designer will have responsibility for the initial planning of a project including scheduling of time, creating material stock listing, analyzing changes, and solving problems. Will have close coordination with the project manager, project superintendent, and sales representative will be required throughout the duration of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Review construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project&rsquo;s fire sprinkler system.</li>
<li>Thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities.</li>
<li>Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD, AutoSprink, BIM, Bluebeam or HydraCAD type programs.</li>
<li>Create a stock list for all material required throughout the project.</li>
<li>Perform hydraulic calculations.</li>
<li>Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work.</li>
<li>Maintain design historical records for future use.</li>
<li>Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure the company is meeting customers&rsquo; expectations.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information.</li>
<li>Perform Project Manager functions as required.</li>
<li>Manage project &amp; drawing archives.</li>
<li>Complete other assigned responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor or other IFP management personnel.</li>

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.</li>
<li>Applicable degree from a technical school or college.</li>
<li>Two years or more experience in commercial industrial, and residential design.</li>
<li>Detail-oriented and skilled in free hand and mechanical lettering and drawings.</li>
<li>NICET certification is a plus.</li>
