Job Overview</div>

Performs skilled work in fire prevention, saving and protection of life and property in fighting fires and other emergencies, provides emergency care to victims of fires and other accidents, inspects and tests associated fire protection equipment and facilities, and performs minor maintenance to such equipment and facilities, performs inspections for combustible storage and ignition source permits, and works as directed by the Control Room when assigned to shift coverage.</div>

Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities</div>

<li>Participates in fire and emergency medical training and drills</li>
<li>Performs equipment surveillance tests on fire protection systems, components and equipment</li>
<li>Performs routine visual inspections of operating equipment, fire barriers and spaces and informs the Control Room of any abnormal conditions detected</li>
<li>Reviews ignition source and combustible storage permits, specifies necessary instructions and performs inspections and evaluations of the work site to ensure work is performed in accordance with Seabrook Station Fire Protection Manual requirements</li>
<li>Assists in the maintenance of fire brigade procedures, programs and strategies</li>
<li>Maintains a thorough understanding of the Station Fire Protection Program and Procedures and recommends improvements.</li>
<li>Interprets and implements procedures relative to the use, testing and maintenance of fire protection equipment</li>
<li>Keeps and maintains logs and records as requested/required</li>
<li>Performs minor routine preventative and corrective maintenance on plant fire equipment, components or systems</li>
<li>Works on a rotating shift schedule and maintains assigned station until properly relieved</li>

Primary Duties and Responsibilities</b></p>

2. Provide firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical technician basic life support at emergency scenes.

</div><div>4. <b>**Firefighter-Paramedics</b> will perform complex diagnostic and medical procedures including, but not limited to, intravenous cannulation, endotracheal intubation, recognition of cardiac arrhythmias, and administration of various medications including DEA scheduled drugs</div>

5. Assist in removal of victims from hazardous situations.</div>

6. Participate in the exchange of information between off-going and on-coming shifts and in crew meetings as necessary.</div>

7. Check all personal gear, assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure safe and effective operation.</div>

8. Respond to alarms of fire or other emergency, including laying, connecting, and using hose and nozzles to direct a water stream, raising and climbing ladders, and using fire extinguishers, bars, hooks, lines, pike poles, Halligans, saws, extrication tools and appliances, and other equipment safely, efficiently and in accordance with the District's rules, policies, procedures and Standard Operating Guidelines.</div>
