 The Firemedic position reports to the Assistant Fire Chief, in the absence of a Lieutenant. The Village of Pleasant Prairie provides both Fire and Rescue (EMS) service to the community of Pleasant Prairie and those areas identified in the mutual aid system. The Firemedic is a highly skilled and technical position within the Fire and Rescue Department. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide rapid, effective, and efficient fire suppression, prevention, rescue (EMS) emergency, Hazardous Materials, and Technical Rescue services within the areas served by the Fire and Rescue Department. The Firemedic is assigned to work shifts and stations. The Firemedic can be called to respond to stations, fire scenes, and emergency medical calls, as well as other emergencies while off duty. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Performs multiple, complex, and high-risk procedures and techniques in responding to fire and non-fire emergencies within the Village and mutual aid districts and provides the necessary skills to mitigate danger to life and property, including but not limited to, driving fire apparatus; operating pumps and related equipment; laying hose; and performing fire suppression, containment, and extinguishment tasks. Provides emergency medical care and transport as a licensed EMT – Paramedic to the standards established by the department, the department recognized EMS system, and the State of Wisconsin.Complies with all Village and Department policies, standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations. Participates in the inspection of buildings, hydrants, and other structures in fire prevention programs and is responsible for the enforcement of state, local fire codes and providing public fire education.Maintains stations, equipment, and vehicles assigned to the Fire & Rescue Department. <div>Amentum is seeking a Fire Fighter Tech (PAC) out of the Las Vegas, NV area.
The incumbent is a newly hired member of the Fire Department and is initially assigned to a &ldquo;Personnel Awaiting Clearance&rdquo; (PAC) location. During this assignment, a variety of training programs for required certification status is pursued. Upon being granted clearance and work site access, the incumbent is assigned to a functional position within the department consistent with possessed skills and qualifications. Once assigned, the incumbent&rsquo;s primary responsibility is to accompany Fire Fighters and respond to emergencies in order to protect lives and property. Position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Essential Responsibilities:<ul>

Suppress all fires including wildland fires near Range facilities and take necessary action to prevent rekindling.</li>
<li>
Exercises caution to avoid damage or loss of property including injury to self and others.</li>
<li>
Identifies, protects and reports evidence indicating cause of fire, especially during salvage and overhaul operations</li>

Reports unusual circumstances or injuries sustained while on duty to the Lieutenant for necessary action.</li>

Must be fully qualified to drive and operate all assigned fire apparatus and support vehicles as well as effectively operate all tools and equipment.</li>

May also be trained to perform related duties and functions such as Alarm Center Operator, fire hose testing, pre-fire planning, station maintenance, fire extinguisher/fire alarm and fire systems inspections and testing, fire apparatus pump tests, and vehicle equipment maintenance.</li>

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:<ul>

During the employment period of hire date to 1 year, must meet the requirements of the State of Nevada and/or National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA) to include:</li>

Current certification of Fire Fighter (2), (NFPA 1001).</li>

Current Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) completion of certification at the level of at least 2(3 preferred).</li>

Equivalent course completion and certification may be considered if it meets the requirements of Nevada Department of Fire programs requirements for EVOC.</li>

Current Hazardous Materials Operations Level Certification (NFPA 472).</li>

Must be able to perform job tasks at any place on the Aerial Ladder from minimal extension to full extension.</li>

Must be able to navigate tight turns, stairs, and enclosed spaces while wearing firefighting personal protective equipment to include SCBA.</li>

At times, work will be done in a station or an office environment maintaining vehicles, equipment and firefighting apparatus.</li>
