Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Autonomous Vehicle Technician diagnoses and performs maintenance and repairs on vehicles operated by the Autonomous Vehicle Driver. <li>Help manage vendor relationships for parts, repairs, and warranty work.</li>

Safety & Compliance
 <ul>
<li>Enforce compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.</li>
<li>Conduct and document safety meetings, vehicle inspections, and post-incident reviews.</li>
<li>Ensure all mechanics follow safe work practices and proper use of equipment and PPE.</li>
<li>Maintain up-to-date certifications, permits, and inspection records for all vehicles.</li>
</ul>
Inventory & Administrative Management
 <ul>
<li>Assist in managing parts inventory, fuel logs, and supply procurement.</li>
<li>Support payroll submission, billing review, and vendor invoicing for the department.</li>
<li>Maintain organized records of repairs, costs, and fleet performance metrics.</li>
<li>Help prepare reports on maintenance trends, costs, and downtime analysis.</li>
</ul>
Team Leadership & Development
 <ul>
<li>Supervise mechanics and shop personnel in the absence of the Fleet Manager.</li>
<li>Train and mentor new staff, promoting technical skill development and adherence to standards.</li>
<li>Support a positive, collaborative shop culture that values teamwork, accountability, and communication.</li>
<li>Assist in evaluating staff performance and identifying growth opportunities.</li>
</ul>
Cross-Department Collaboration
 <ul>
<li>Coordinate with operations teams (Tours, Agriculture, Facilities, etc.) to address vehicle needs and emergencies.</li>
<li>Support event logistics and special projects requiring transportation or mechanical assistance.</li>
<li>Communicate clearly across departments to ensure fleet reliability and efficiency.</li>
</ul>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 <ul>
<li>2–4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance, fleet coordination, or transportation operations.</li>
<li>Prior supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of automotive or diesel systems, maintenance procedures, and diagnostic tools.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Fleetio or similar).</li>
<li>Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record; CDL preferred.</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 <ul>
<li>Technical or trade certification in automotive or diesel mechanics.</li>
<li>Experience managing compliance with DOT, OSHA, or EPA standards.</li>
<li>Familiarity with hybrid, electric, or utility vehicle systems.</li>
<li>CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 <ul>
<li>Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 75 lbs.</li>
<li>Capable of standing, bending, and working in outdoor and shop environments for extended periods.</li>
<li>Comfortable working around heavy equipment and in varying weather conditions.</li>
