Administers medications accurately and appropriately, including PO, SQ, IV, IV PUSH, IVPB, IM, SL, PR, topical, and intradermal. Responds and participates in unit and hospital code situations, utilizing knowledge and experience to treat patients according to BLS and ACLS protocols. Provides competent and compassionate care to patients with pain according to policy and mission. Maintains a safe patient care environment, including following fall risk specifications and ensuring proper use of restraints. Supervises and guides permanent and temporary nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care outcomes. Major Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:</b><ul><li>
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic license issued by the state in which the team member practices., and
</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
</li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
</li><li>Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.</li></ul><br>

Education Required:</b><ul><li>
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Emergency Medical Services.</li></ul><br>

Experience Required:</b><ul><li>
Typically requires 1 year of experience in a paramedic role or appropriate related clinical experience.

<b>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities Required:</b><ul><li>
Completion of Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or other courses as appropriate, may be completed in place of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).</li><li>
Basic computer skills and ability to work with electronic health record (HER) systems.
</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and their families.</li><li>
Must maintain skill and recertification as required by regulation and organization.</li><li>
Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.</li><li>
High level of attention to detail.</li></ul><br>

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</b><ul><li>
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, squat, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift.</li><li>
Must be able to:
</li><li>Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.</li><li>
Lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.</li><li>
Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.</li><li>
Must be able to:
</li><li>Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.</li><li>
Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.</li><li>
Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.</li><li>
Will be exposed to the following hazards on a continuous basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood and body fluids.</li><li>
Protective clothing (i.e. goggles, gloves, gowns, etc.) must be worn as necessary.</li><li>
Must have functional vision and hearing.</li><li>
