UTILITY WORKER DESCRIPTION:
The Utility Worker is responsible for general kitchen sanitation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. He or she will work with our kitchen and wait staff to ensure a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, glassware, cooking utensils, pots, and pans are available at all times. He/she also ensures that floors are cleaned and maintained and that trash is removed. 
 
The ideal candidate is at least 18 years old, has some previous experience, can lift/carry 50 to 100 pounds, and is willing to work in a noisy and fast paced environment.
UTILITY WORKER RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware to stock the dining areas and set tables</li><li>
Ensures a proper supply of clean pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are available for kitchen staff</li><li>
Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation</li><li>
Cleans floors and removes trash</li><li>
Assists with unloading supply truck</li><li>

 Responsible for ensuring that clean and sanitary conditions are maintained in all areas of the kitchen food preparation and serving lines; turn on and set temperature on grills, stoves, deep fryer, and broiler.
 
 
 Operate and maintain equipment used according to FDVA procedures.
 
 
 Responsible for estimate food requirements; preparation and cooking of all types of hot and cold food items according to menu and approved recipes. Cut and de-bone ham, poultry, and fish. Slice meats according to menu needs. Utilize leftover meat items.
 
 
 Place food items on serving lines and keep serving line well stocked.
 
 
 Maintain, check, and control kitchen inventory to determine quantities available as well as amounts needed for operation. Assist with purchase requests for food, cleaning supplies, utensils, pots and pans, dishes and paper products.
 
 
 Verify incoming shipments and receipts in the absence of stock person.
 
 
 Attend in-service training classes and performs related duties assigned by supervisor.
