McLarens is searching for a <b>General Adjuster</b> working in a designated region with the ability to travel, as needed, to resolve various types of losses. This role&rsquo;s main responsibilities will be managing the resolution of first and third-party claim exposures from both a coverage, investigative, and loss establishment perspective. The General Adjuster needs to be able to work in a collaborative and responsive fashion with varying levels of supervision resolving complex exposures. We are looking for an exceptional problem solver, proactive thinker, strong communicator, team player, and self-starter.</p></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Key Accountabilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Receive and review claim intake daily.</li>
<li>Contact insurer, broker, and claimant to arrange appointment for first meeting.</li>
<li>Visit insured/risk to investigate cause, circumstances, extent of loss, and damage.</li>
<li>Review policy coverage and raise questions with insurers, where appropriate, and recommend resolutions.</li>
<li>Consult with construction contractors, engineers, and other experts for the purpose of determining damages.</li>
<li>Timely reporting to clients with clear and comprehensive content.</li>
<li>Formulate technically precise correspondence specific to Reservation of Rights, Declination of Coverage, and Denial of Liability.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, independent and field adjusters.</li>
<li>Effectively manage claims and liaise with insured, insurer, broker, retained experts, etc.</li>
<li>Prepare scope of damage, loss measure, and costs schedule.</li>
<li>Coordinate cost agreements with insured and claimant.</li>
<li>Bring matters to a timely, equitable resolution in accordance with Coverage and/or Liability findings.</li>
<li>Other duties as instructed by Leadership, including out-of-territory travel and catastrophe response, as needed.</li>

</div><div><ul><li>3-5 years of commercial/residential property claims experience.</li>
</ul><ul><li>4-year college degree.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Appropriate state adjuster license(s).</li>
<li>Regional claims experience.</li>
<li>Experience handling complex commercial losses preferred.</li>
<li>Established Broker/Carrier relationships.</li>
<li>Some experience with commercial and residential ISO policies to include manuscript interpretations.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating platforms.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business to include familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices.</li>
<li>Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, both verbal and written.</li>

The <b>National General Adjuster</b> must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision handling larger and/or complex commercial property claims in a prompt, equitable, and professional manner. The NGA must have the ability to engage and direct experts of all disciplines, analyze coverage, and report accurate estimates of damage while managing all damage components of the loss.
