Our AWS procurement team is looking for a results-oriented individual to assume responsibility for sourcing electrical distribution capital equipment related to our growing Infrastructure. Our Global Category Managers are responsible for developing sourcing strategies and clear action plans toward achieving the lowest total cost of ownership fueling the exponential growth across our Data Centers as we meet and exceed customer demand. In this role you will lead internal engagements across supply chain, engineering and business organizations while diving deep into the technologies and operations both from a product and supply chain perspective. You will analyze trends involving the industry players &ndash; vendors, customers, and technology to develop strategies to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities allowing AWS to meet and exceed its goals. 
 
Key job responsibilities 
Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with strategic suppliers pertaining to electrical distribution equipment for data centers or other mission critical facilities. 
 
Create and execute strategic sourcing projects that will support the teams&rsquo; development of an end-to-end sourcing plan globally. 
 
Influence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging the growth of Amazon's spend. 
 
Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions. 
 
Analyze and determine cost reduction opportunities by leveraging volumes, optimizing the supplier base and reducing total cost of ownership. 
 
Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, and RFP). 
 
Work with our team and business partners for the creation and continuous improvement of the capital equipment supply chain. 
 
Make optimal trade-offs between schedule, resources, and scope, and apply advanced technical and business knowledge to address major risks, challenges, and obstacles. 
 
Help develop long-term department strategies and significantly influence the cross-company project development and delivery processes and standards. 
 
Keys to success in this role include sound judgment and excellent written/verbal communication skills, and ability to extract insights from data and be able to communicate clearly appropriate triggers and actions.

Business Partnering
<ul><li>Ensure proper BP at global/regional level, with global/regional IA stakeholders, as it pertains to Outsourcing</li><li>
Act as Procurement focal point for pre-defined subjects and as a facilitator for the purchasing function</li><li>
Ensure consistency, communication and integration within the M&amp;S, Business and Procurement network as it pertains to Global EM</li><li>
Actively support business partnering activities in collaboration with Procurement peers</li><li>
Develop and maintain strong interfaces with P2P, Finance, Legal and all other relevant teams</li></ul>
Category Management<ul><li>
Ensure the operational sourcing &amp; action plan is followed for his/her perimeter (composed of different spend families) is fully aligned with category management strategy/orientation</li><li>
Support management and peers, provides advice and/or participates in strategic negotiations according to needs</li></ul>
Procurement Risk Management, Compliance, Ethics and CSR
<ul><li>Ensure Procurement skills are robust &amp; current via Procurement Academy and other ad hoc offerings</li><li>
Take part in regular training sessions to audits requirements</li><li>
Compliance sanity checks</li><li>
Pre &amp; Post Audit management</li><li>
Crisis management</li></ul>
About You
Education &amp; Experience:<ul><li>
Minimum: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree. No certifications required.</li><li>
Excellent command of both written and spoken English required.</li><li>
Minimum years of experience: 7+ Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality or related Pharmaceutical industry discipline. Leadership experience desirable.</li><li>
Experience preferred within Drug substance and/or Drug Product</li><li>
Procurement and/or international experience preferred.</li></ul>
Technical Skills Requirements:<ul><li>
Preferred demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures</li><li>
Analytical and negotiation skills and techniques</li><li>
Management skills in assessing business issues</li><li>
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>
Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams locally and in international network</li><li>
Basic understanding of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and financial practices</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project Management</li></ul>
