Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks in the maintenance of a golf course; must have the ability to operate specified mowing equipment and be willing to perform menial tasks. This position will be required to work during inclement weather and is considered weather essential personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, such as power and hand tools, shovels, mops, wrenches and brooms.</li><li>
Ability to operate and repair medium equipment and machinery, such as tools a pick-up, tractor, hydraulic mowing equipment such as greensmower, fringe and tee mowers, fairway units, etc.</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul>

GREENSKEEPER I

Oki Golf

As the Mechanic at The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment and machinery in the turf department and related areas (pump stations, maintenance facility, etc.) as well as providing support to the property (club house & recreation center) in areas of related expertise (i.e., golf carts, electronics, etc.). This includes meeting established safety standards and adherence to the respective equipment owner’s manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and longevity of all equipment and machinery.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance.</li>
<li>Must be proactive in implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department.</li>
<li>Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:</li>
<li>engines</li>
<li>tractors (gas & diesel)</li>
<li>hydraulics</li>
<li>electronics</li>
<li>tools or equipment (i.e., blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.)</li>
<li>Ensures safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA/WISHA guidelines and proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner’s manual specifications.</li>
<li>Assists in the training of team members for proper use of equipment & machinery.</li>
<li>Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.</li>

<li>Ensures daily a.m. set up of all turf equipment.</li>
<li>Daily communication with the golf course superintendent regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment.</li>
<li>Ability to make fabrications or alterations to new or existing equipment to insure proper working order and efficiency.</li>
<li>Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and orderly work area.</li>
