The Omni PGA Frisco Resort is looking for an experienced <b>Assistant Golf Course Superinendent I</b>.</div><div></div><div><br>
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the <b>Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I</b> is a key position and second in command within the Golf Course Maintenance operations of the West golf course. This individual must always have a keen eye for detail and be able to assist the Superintendent in keeping the golf course well-groomed for daily play and for the numerous events and tournaments throughout the year. The West Assistant Superintendent I is responsible for the daily activities of the golf course maintenance staff, including supervision and training of staff to perform all the tasks associated with maintaining the golf course.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Trains, motivates and supervises staff capable of performing the tasks associated with maintaining the golf course.
</li><li>Plans, schedules and monitors the daily operations, including responsibility for assisting in coordinating and assigning work.</li><li>Assists GCS and Lead Assistant with recommendations concerning personnel matters such as staff performance reviews and terminations.</li><li>Reviews golf course on a daily basis and gives feedback to both GCS to ensure agronomic, maintenance standards and departmental goals are met.
</li><li>Assist Lead GCS in documentation and filing daily records for each team member&rsquo;s assignments. This should be done daily with job task and completion time.</li><li>Works directly with AIT&rsquo;s in monitoring golf course playing conditions primarily related to our intense moisture management programs. Follows up and checks random areas on the course to ensure proper management techniques and guidelines are being followed.
</li><li>Works directly with the Second Assistant Superintendent to ensure the proper use and management of our highly sophisticated irrigation system. Assists with monitoring and maintaining the programing systems.</li><li>Communicates directly with the Application Foreman in regard to applications and scheduling on the golf course. Insures proper applications, tank mixing and compatibilities are met. Ensures proper operating procedures of all equipment and calibrations are met.
</li><li>Work closely with GCS on specific plans and strategies to ensure interns success.
</li><li>Ensure team members are properly using, cleaning and greasing of equipment in the morning/afternoon.
</li><li>Make sure all assigned small equipment is returned to the small equipment room and signed back in.</li><li>Ensures that proper logging of information and data for all of the department&rsquo;s record keeping is accurate such as rainfall, daily weather conditions, moisture management and any additional information pertaining to our intense agronomic program and needs.</li><li>Builds relationships and communicates with the golf shop in the morning. Inform golf shop on maintenance procedures, (topdressing, cart paths only, etc.).</li><li>Discuss daily schedules, programs and concerns with the Golf Course Superintendent with attention to efficient management and quality control in mind. Assure that all issues and concerns are brought to the Golf Course Superintendent as quickly as possible in order to lessen potential negative impact.</li><li>Maintain pesticide license and continual education in the field of concern or related.</li><li>Ensures organization of the GCM facility, equipment and grounds.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Associates degree or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

<b>Description of duties:</b></div>

<li>Oversees and leads the Head Golf Professional(s) and all golf department staff.</li>

<li>Class A-1 or A-4 PGA Professional designation is preferred.</li>

Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Processing customer transactions, handling special orders, returns, and repairs through the computer.</li><li>
Answering telephones and efficiently assisting with customer questions.</li><li>
Sell merchandise in the store.</li><li>
General stocking and merchandising duties.
</li><li>Greet all customers promptly and courteously as they enter Golfdom.</li><li>
Direct customers throughout the store or to the specific area of expertise</li><li>
Give accurate and current information about the product for all inquiries.</li><li>
Increase the customer base by adding new customers to the mailing list.
</li><li>Maintain the feedback loop to buyers by filling out low inventory forms (SO forms).</li><li>

Merchandising and Maintenance</b></p><ul><li>
Check stock daily to ensure that all products are adequately stocked and available for customers.
</li><li>All folded merchandise must be neat and well folded. Sizes should be arranged in order from smallest to largest.</li><li>
Featured merchandise should be prominently displayed in each section.</li><li>
Maintain store image by dressing in appropriate golf or professional dress.</li><li>
Maintain a clean and well-organized back stock area.</li><li>
Vacuum, sweep floors and empty all trash each day, if required.</li></ul><p><b>
Operations</b></p><ul><li>
Report to work on time or notify in advance if absent or late</li><li>
Operate the cash register; it should be each employee&rsquo;s goal to use the register without error and to be consistently accurate in money handling.</li><li>
Checking out anytime you must leave the building (including lunch breaks).</li><li>
Use correct procedures for processing special orders.</li><li>
Know the procedures for processing paperwork.</li><li>
Practice security measures that help prevent theft. Understand the procedures for handling shoplifters.</li><li>
Practice safety consciousness at all times.
</li><li>Be proactive in your ongoing education regarding the company, weekly reports, products, and the golf retail business.</li><li>
Set and achieve goals during each review period.</li><li>
Take advantage of the training opportunities that are offered.</li></ul><p><b>
Required Skills
