Founded in 1981, The Public Law Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free legal services to low income residents and other nonprofits in Orange County. Last year, Public Law Center staff and volunteers provided over 65,000 hours of free legal services in handling over 4,500 cases benefiting low-income children, adults and seniors. The estimated value of this work is roughly $60 million in just the past three years. Our services include counseling, individual representation, community education and strategic policy advocacy and impact litigation to challenge societal injustices.</p><p><b><br>
About the role</b></p><p></p><p><br>
The Grants Manager plays a key role in sustaining and growing PLC&rsquo;s grant funding portfolio. This position is responsible for managing a calendar of grant deadlines, preparing and submitting compelling grant applications and reports, and maintaining compliance with grant requirements. The Grants Manager works closely with program staff, the finance team, and senior leadership&mdash;including the CEO/Executive Director&mdash;to ensure PLC meets its fundraising goals and reporting obligations. The Grants Manager supervises 1-2 non-exempt employees and is part of the organization&rsquo;s Development and Outreach Team.</p><p></p><p><br>
This is a hybrid position and candidate must live within driving distance of PLC's Santa Ana office and be able to attend on-site events on a regular basis.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
What you'll do</b></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Grant Writing and Reporting</b></h3><ul><li>
Draft and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to private foundations, corporations, and government funders.</li><li>
Work with program staff and leadership to gather data, stories, and outcomes to support proposals and reporting.</li><li>
Maintain familiarity with all funded programs and their goals, metrics, and progress.</li><li>
Develop and maintain a bank of client testimonials and stories for use in grants and outreach materials.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Grants Management and Compliance</b></h3><ul><li>
Oversee accuracy and maintenance of comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines, including applications, renewals, reports, and deliverables.</li><li>

Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>
 Minimum 3 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in a nonprofit or legal services setting.</li><li>
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.</li><li>
Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.</li><li>

<div><p><b>I. Purpose and Summary of Position</b><br>
The Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit coalition in Texas dedicated solely to creating safer communities and freedom from family violence. With a statewide reach and local impact, TCFV&mdash;through the collective strength of more than 1,000 members&mdash;shapes public policy, equips service providers, and advances strategic initiatives to end family violence.</p><p>
The Grants Financial Manager (GFM) serves as a key member of TCFV&rsquo;s finance team, ensuring accurate and compliant financial management of the organization&rsquo;s government grants and contracts. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the PA is responsible for grant billing, reconciliations, cost allocation, and project-level financial reporting in accordance with 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), GAAP, and funder requirements. This mid-level position collaborates across departments to support fiscal accountability, accuracy, and transparency. This position also provides backup support for payroll and accounts payable to ensure the continuity of critical accounting operations.</p><div><b>
II. Essential Responsibilities/Duties</b><br>
<b>A. Grant Billing and Financial Management &ndash; 70%</b><br>
<ul><li>Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely grant and contract billings in compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and funder requirements.</li><li>Maintain detailed billing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations for all grant-funded projects.</li><li>Ensure compliance with the established Grants Financial Management and Reporting procedures.</li><li>Support monitoring of Monitor grant budgets.</li><li>Establish a 12-month calendar budget to use in identifying variances.</li><li>Record monthly grant revenues and expenditures accurately in the accounting system; process necessary adjustments as approved by the Controller.</li><li>Prepare and review variances and any spending adjustments with Program Directors on a monthly or as needed basis.</li><li>Maintain strong internal controls and documentation to support audit readiness. Research and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with program staff and funding partners.</li><li>Ensure that recorded grants receivable matched with revenue recorded for the period.</li><li>Make timely follow up with grantors if receivable is over 90 days old.</li></ul></div><div><b>
B. Compliance, Reporting, and Reconciliation &ndash; 20%</b><br>
