Proposal Summary:
Tetra Tech is recruiting a HSE Specialist for an anticipated assignment supporting the World Bank&ndash;financed Abuzabal Dumpsite Closure Project, a 28‑month effort focused on shaping and safely closing the existing dumpsite using geo‑synthetic materials, along with installing gas and leachate collection systems for the solid waste body. The project will be managed by the Ministry of Environment as part of its Greater Cairo Air Pollution Management and Climate Change Project.
As subcontractor to an Egyptian construction firm, Tetra Tech will be responsible for providing environmental health and safety monitoring, advisory and compliance services in support of the lead contractor&rsquo;s obligations under the main contract for the Abuzabal Dumpsite Closure Project. This includes full alignment with the World Bank Environmental &amp; Social Framework (ESF), Environmental &amp; Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Environmental &amp; Social Management Plan (ESMP), applicable Egyptian laws and regulations, and international best practices.

Position Summary:
The HSE Specialist will support the Construction of the Abuzabal Dumpsite Closure Project by ensuring that all project activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role will focus on leading the development and implementation of HSE strategies, conducting risk assessments and audits, and providing expert guidance to project teams on compliance and hazard mitigation. The specialist will also deliver HSE training, monitor performance metrics, and promote a proactive safety culture across project operations.
