<b>POSITION PURPOSE:
</b><br>
The Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) will serve on the USACE project at Fort Greely, AK. The SSHO is responsible for safety oversight and safe execution of all work in compliance with all corporate, federal, state, and site safety requirements. The SSHO is required to be on site at all times during construction activities, overseeing and ensuring safe working conditions for all personnel, including subcontractors, the client, end users, and visitors. The SSHO works with program and project staff to maintain site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP)/Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) and develops activity hazard analyses (AHAs) for all features of work for the project.

Supervises safety of all field activities, to include in-house and subcontractor trades, and coordinates site logistics.

The Health and WASH Officer role is pivotal in supporting the effective implementation of integrated health and WASH interventions in target communities. The position will coordinate with district authorities, supervise field activities, and facilitate the delivery of primary health care services through mobile health teams and community-based approaches. The officer will also support health facility rehabilitation, hygiene promotion, capacity building of staff and volunteers, and distribution of essential health and hygiene supplies. The role aims to strengthen community health systems, improve access to basic health and WASH services, and promote healthy practices among vulnerable populations in the project areas.</p></div></div></div><br>

<ul><li><p>Coordinate with district administration and relevant stakeholders for project implementation, including facilitation of MoUs and necessary approvals.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Support program needs assessments and orient health assessment teams for data collection and analysis.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Conduct technical feasibility assessments and prepare basic designs and BOQs for rehabilitation of health facilities.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Assist in transportation, reception, distribution of medicines, medical equipment, health supplies and stock maintenance for project areas in Baluchistan.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Support integration of Primary Health Care (PHC) services at community level through ICCM and basic first aid interventions.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Organize and facilitate trainings on ICCM and basic first aid for staff and volunteers.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Map SGBV service providers and support the establishment of referral pathways for vulnerable individuals.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Establish and strengthen Village Health and WASH Committees and support youth clubs in schools to promote community participation.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Conduct community awareness sessions on health, hygiene, and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) in target communities and schools, and support dissemination of IEC materials.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Support rehabilitation of health facilities including improvement of WASH services such as sanitation, water supply, solarization, and gender-sensitive facilities.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Assist in procurement and distribution of hygiene kits, dignity kits, mosquito nets (LLINs), and water storage containers to targeted households.</p>
</li>
<li><p>Ensure proper documentation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in accordance with organizational and donor requirements.</p>
</li>

<p>QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE,</p>

<li><p>Relevant work experience of at least 3 years with humanitarian organizations in Primary Healthcare projects</p>
</li>
<li><div>At least 03 years of relevant work experience in WASH &amp; HEALTH-related programs in context of emergency is required. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in Health and Emergency WASH, CASH and Voucher, Climate and health and ICCM.<div></div><div>Health</div></div>
