<div>The Center for Disabilities and Development is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant II. Under supervision of CDD Assistant Nurse Manager, perform patient care, medical information management, patient scheduling and clinic support functions for the Center for Disabilities and Development&rsquo;s Healy Outpatient Clinic.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, shift between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.<ul><li>

Medical Assistant II - CDD (day shift)

<div>Working with Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care and the Pediatric Comprehensive Pain Clinic at the UI Children&rsquo;s Hospital, focus on the care of inpatient and outpatient pain and palliative care patients, developing plans of care and providing personalized care to pediatric patients requiring pain management and palliative care. Perform direct patient care including diagnostic and therapeutic services to manage pain and provide palliative care. Work as an interdisciplinary team member to lead and support quality patient care. 
 
HOURS OF WORK: 
Works as part of a team who cares for pediatric pain and palliative patients requiring medical coverage as clinically indicated. Will include providing coverage for 24/7 call, weekends, evenings, and holidays on a rotation amongst the other Pediatric Pain &amp; Palliative Care providers.
Duties to include, but not limited to:

<div>University of Iowa Health Care - Medical Center North Liberty department of Perioperative Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician. They are unlicensed staff members who work under direct supervision of a nurse to assist the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in in-patient and out-patient care areas. Their work requires familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures used in delivering patient care.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Independently obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
</li><li>Carries out medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks including but not limited to phlebotomy, peripheral IV removal, &amp; Foley catheter removal and cares for patients who are medically isolated.
</li><li>Performs simple diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as enemas, preoperative preparation of the skin, dressing changes, collecting specimens, applying binders, braces, etc.
</li><li>Performs special duties as taught and directed by the nurse in charge including but not limited to phlebotomy, ECG lead/12 lead placement, and brace/pin site cares.
</li><li>Assists with patient admission, transfers, and discharges.
</li><li>Directly provides for patients' personal hygiene and comfort.
</li><li>Turns, positions and ambulates patients.
</li><li>Transports patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies.
</li><li>Feeds patients, serves drinking water and nourishments, and records patients' intake.
</li><li>Assists patients with bedpans and urinals and records output.
</li><li>Participates in nursing care conferences; reports pertinent patient information and incidents to nurse in charge.
</li><li>Provides for patient comfort measures through social interactions.</li><li>
Shares responsibility for preparation, proper use and care of equipment and supplies, and for neatness and cleanliness of unit.
</li><li>May assemble and maintain equipment and supplies in preparation for various diagnostic or treatment procedures performed by physicians or nurse.</li><li>
Cleans areas per designated guidelines and standards demonstrating proper use of approved disinfectants, cleaning products, and care of the housekeeping equipment</li><li>
Stock and supply patient rooms and nursing units.</li></ul> 
Schedule: 75% 
Hourly: $17.86 to commensurate 
Hours: Rotating hours between 0530-2030 Monday- Friday. No overnight, weekend, or holiday hours. 8- or 10-hour shifts are available based on percentage.

Under direct supervision, assists the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in out-patient care areas. Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.
