About the role<ul><li>
The Medical Assistant position is comfortable working in a fast paced, paperless environment. Daily tasks include taking vitals, rooming patients, cleaning rooms, assisting with procedures, etc. As an urgent care clinic, we see mostly lower acuity patients but we are a patient centric, modern company focused on providing patients with excellent medical care. We are looking for someone with availability and flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and some holidays.</li></ul>
What you'll do<ul><li>
Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging</li><li>
Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care</li><li>
Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, carry out ear lavages and run EKGs</li><li>
Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid hiv testing</li><li>
Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed</li><li>
Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in those locations(s) permitted by law for exemption with experience, diploma and/or national certification)</li><li>
Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification</li><li>
1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred</li><li>
Phlebotomy experience preferred</li><li>

RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Room patients, this includes but not limited to: escort patients to examination rooms, prepare them for the provider by completing medication reconciliation, obtaining and recording in the electronic medical record system the patient&rsquo;s medical history, chief complaint, assess vitals, complete care gaps and any additional care as needed or requested.</li><li>
Support telehealth visits: similar to rooming patients, the MA will prepare the patient for the provider portion of the visit, this includes identifying the chief complaint, completing a medication reconciliation, addressing care gaps, confirming the patient&rsquo;s pharmacy</li><li>
Prepare exam rooms for patient exams, ensuring that exam rooms are neat, clean, well-stocked and properly prepared.</li><li>
Collect urine, blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing</li><li>
Operate electrocardiogram (EKG) or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests</li><li>
Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as directed by the provider with appropriate written orders</li><li>
Provide education to patients regarding treatment procedures, medications, diets, providers&rsquo; instructions and preparation necessary for diagnostic tests, x-rays and laboratory examinations</li><li>
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies</li><li>
