 About the Position
 Evergreen Goodwill is seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Mechanic responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC systems across multiple retail stores, warehouses, and administrative facilities. This role supports large-scale heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient environments for employees, customers, and program participants.
 The Senior HVAC Mechanic performs advanced diagnostics, oversees preventive maintenance for complex HVAC equipment, and coordinates with external vendors for major repairs and system upgrades. The ideal candidate has strong experience working with commercial HVAC systems in large facilities such as retail stores, warehouses, or distribution centers.
 Essential Functions & Responsibilities
 Commercial HVAC Maintenance and Repair
 <ul>
<li>Maintain and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, air handling units, make-up air units, exhaust systems, and warehouse ventilation equipment.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigeration issues affecting large building systems.</li>
<li>Repair or replace compressors, motors, belts, relays, contactors, sensors, thermostats, and other system components.</li>
<li>Inspect, test, and calibrate thermostats, economizers, and building control systems.</li>
<li>Perform refrigerant leak detection, system evacuation, and recharging in compliance with EPA regulations.</li>
</ul>
Preventive Maintenance
 <ul>
<li>Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment across Evergreen Goodwill facilities.</li>
<li>Conduct routine inspections of rooftop units, mechanical rooms, duct systems, and ventilation equipment.</li>
<li>Replace filters, belts, bearings, and other wear components to ensure reliable system performance.</li>
<li>Identify aging or failing equipment and recommend repair or replacement strategies.</li>
</ul>
Facilities Support
 <ul>
<li>Respond to HVAC-related work orders and service requests from stores, warehouses, and administrative offices.</li>
<li>Assist the Facilities team with mechanical system maintenance when necessary.</li>
<li>Support emergency HVAC repairs that impact store operations or building safety.</li>
</ul>
Vendor and Project Coordination
 <ul>
<li>Coordinate with external HVAC contractors for major repairs, installations, and equipment replacements.</li>
<li>Assist with evaluating vendor work and ensuring repairs meet organizational standards.</li>
<li>Provide technical input for HVAC upgrades, replacements, and facility improvement projects.</li>
</ul>
Safety and Compliance
 <ul>
<li>Ensure all HVAC work complies with OSHA safety requirements, EPA refrigerant regulations, and local building codes.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.</li>
<li>Identify safety hazards related to mechanical systems and recommend corrective actions.</li>

Responsibilities:

<li>Assures calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, equipment, and controls for optimum performance.</li>
<li>Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, VAV and fan powered boxes.</li>
<li>Maintains the safe operation of systems including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls, oil/gas fired water tube boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, de-aerating tanks, air compressor blowers, etc.</li>

 Knowledge of mechanical functions, principles and techniques of auto repair.

 Skill in analyzing, diagnosing and correcting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures or defects.

 Skill in using specialized tools and machines common to the trade.

 Ability to plan and layout repair work. Read, understand and carry out repair instruction from repair manuals. Follow oral and written instructions.

 Ability to locate needed repairs during vehicle inspections.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:
 
 
 
 Ability to engage in strenuous physical activity including but not limited to stooping, standing, bending, climbing, etc. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must have good dexterity and be in good physical condition.

 Exposure to loud noises, welding fumes, exposure to burns and outdoor severe weather conditions.

 Service vehicles, flatbed car hauler and related equipment, electronic testing equipment, gas torch, hydraulic press, drill press, hydraulic body tools, AC recovery &amp; recharge machine, tire mount/dismount machine, mechanics hand tools and misc. tools/equipment.
