JOB SUMMARY
The Heavy Equipment Service Technician will be responsible for servicing and repairing Caterpillar heavy equipment at Lake Charles, Louisiana branch or surrounding customer locations.
We offer flexible, rotational shift schedules designed to fit your lifestyle, including 14 on/7 off, 14 on/14 off, and 28 on/14 off. Housing is provided while on shift for out-of-state candidates residing 100+ miles from their assigned branch. We are currently searching for technician for our Lake Charles, LA location.
YEARLY POTENTIAL
$60,000 - $120,000 yearly
The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician&rsquo;s experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy equipment such as electrical codes, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, power generation and power trains</li><li>
Responsible for removal and installation of heavy equipment engine components according to Caterpillar standards and technical service manuals</li><li>
Understand Caterpillar exchange parts process and financial cost analysis of repairs for our customers</li><li>
Create, track and formalize work order documents on our Caterpillar customer service report software systems</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred</li><li>
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic</li><li>
Extensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance</li><li>

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Work Environment: Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional loudness when equipment is running.</li></ul>

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for managing multiple shop employees (10-15 mechanics) , scheduling all maintenance services, parts ordering and acquisition, and compliance with all airport and DOT regulations and in accordance with Menzies Aviation policies and procedures. The GSE Duty Manager is also responsible for all repair and maintenance actions that occur during other shifts.

The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols. 


What you will be doing

<li>Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the duties to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities and equipment</li>

<li>Establish a program for the acquisition, storage, and accountability of all parts, materials, tools, and equipment</li>

Responsibilities:
