Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1&ndash;5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

A Brief Overview
The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. The professional registered nurse Inpatient Services RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Full-time position 
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Health Systems Management support and work under the guidance of RNs to provide dialysis treatment to multiple patients at a time. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and compassion needed to improve the quality of life for our patients while promoting positive patient outcomes. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis. To be considered for this position qualified candidates are required to have a minimum of 6 months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience. Good fit for those with - CHT, CCHT, CNA, CMA, PCA, CPT, CMA, EMT, CST, CPhT, etc.<div>

We are currently looking for compassionate, dedicated, and highly motivated PCTs to join our Statesville Dialysis Center dialysis team.</div><div> 
PCT Responsibilities and Physical Demands:</div><div>
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.</div><ul><li>
Set up of the hemodialysis machine.</li><li>
Greet patients and collect details regarding their previous treatment. Report any concerns or observations to the lead nurse.</li><li>
Assist with and prepare the patient's vascular access for treatment.</li><li>
Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment per written policies, procedures, and standards of care.</li><li>
Obtain patient's vital signs before, during, and after dialysis treatment and appropriately document in patient medical record.</li><li>
Responsible for appropriately calculating and documenting patient's fluid removal.</li><li>
PCT performs appropriate access cannulation and reports any difficulties or unusual findings to the lead nurse.</li><li>
Monitor the patient for any adverse reaction(s) and conduct appropriate intervention.</li><li>
Monitor the dialysis machine for any malfunction. Report any malfunctions to the lead nurse.</li><li>
Demonstrates knowledge of infection control as related to hand washing, personal protective equipment (PPE), and universal precautions.</li><li>
Maintain patient safety and comfort, which may include assisting with personal care needs and activities of daily living.</li><li>
Responds appropriately to emergency situations.</li><li>
Note you will have exposure to blood, needles, and various other bodily fluids.</li><li>
This position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation.</li><li>
PCT will spend considerable time walking, bending, stretching, and standing.</li><li>
The employee may occasionally be required to move machines, equipment, and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 pounds and high as five feet.</li><li>
You are required to acknowledge the inter-facility coverage policy that supports floating to various clinics during and after your training, if needed.</li></ul><div>
PCT What You Can Expect:</div><ul><li>
Improvement: HSM consistently strives to improve processes for our patients and teammates.</li><li>
Training: May take plate in a facility or a different clinic other than your assigned home clinic.</li><li>
Hours: Work hours may vary during the training period. However, you will typically work between 36-40 hours per week during training.</li></ul>
Education Requirements and Position Qualifications:<ul><li>
High School Diploma required.</li><li>
Basic computer knowledge required.</li><li>
6 Months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience is required.</li><li>
Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the Health Systems Management training program in its entirety.</li><li>
The ability to work long hours is required. You could be on your feet for extended periods of time. Our day ends when patients&rsquo; care is completed.</li><li>
You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>
Must pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months following the first day of employment.</li><li>
Must have or obtain Basic Life Support certification approved by the American Heart Association</li><li>
Must be comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation, and obtaining labs.</li><li>
Excellent bedside manner and communication skills.</li><li>
Employee must successfully pass the Ishihara&rsquo;s Color Blind Test.</li><li>

U.S. Renal Care

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">How you will change lives</h2>

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.

What you'll be doing</h2>

Patient care. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.

Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.

Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
What we're looking for</h2>
<ul><li>High school graduate or equivalent.</li>
<li>Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.</li>
<li>Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.</li>
<li>Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.</li>
<li>Ability to distinguish all primary colors.</li> 
</ul>
Other requirements
<ul>
<li>Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.</li>
<li>CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.</li>
<li>Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.</li>
