<p>AriseAZ Tutor &amp;Teacher Information</p><p>Responsibilities: We are looking for a patient and enthusiastic guitar teacher to provide in-home lessons for students of various skill levels. <b>We have current needs for guitar teachers in Central Phoenix, Vistancia and Glendale. </b>The ideal candidate will create fun engaging lessons tailored to each student's needs while fostering a love for music. Responsibilities include teaching guitar lesson in students' home; customize lessons based on skill level and learning style; encourage students' progress and love for music; communicate with parents about student progress. Requirements include proficiency in guitar and basic music theory; previous teaching experience preferred, reliable transportation and ability to work with students of different ages and skill levels. Teachers will go in homes of families to support students and their needs. Music teachers will help students practice their instruments and learn new material based on their level. Teacher training is provided if necessary.</p><p>Hours/Schedule: Tutors are able to make their own hours and schedule with families that have expressed interest in the program. We let tutors know what is needed and they can accept or deny the specific teaching opportunity. For example, a family might be looking for a guitar teacher for an hour once a week during after-school hours and we would offer the opportunity to music teachers. We require a semester-long commitment from the tutor and a signed contract. This role allows for tutors to create their own schedule and is a part time position.</p><p>Location Expectations: Teachers must be willing to go and travel in homes. <div><p>To provide instruction in general music techniques (Vocal), Grades 5 and 6</p><br>
</div><br>
<div><div>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</div>
</div><br>
<div><div><div><ul><li>Teachers will teach general music classes in grades 5 and 6.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Required activities for the year will include: District Honor Choir.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Teachers will have concert programs each in the Fall and Spring Semester.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Teachers will provide regular opportunities for individual and small group instruction outside the school day (i.e., weekly sectionals, master classes, individual help sessions on auditions, solo/ensemble preparation.)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Teachers will interact with the Junior High School and High School Choir/Music staff as part of a continual program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Teachers will be responsible for the organizational requirements of the program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Regular attendance.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain confidentiality.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Teachers will perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
</div><p><b>ASSIGNMENTS TO VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION:</b></p>
<div><ul><li>Seamlessly integrate District-approved online learning platforms and required software into the planning, delivery, and support of virtual instruction.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Plan, prepare, implement, and evaluate lessons and activities during the standard work hours of the campus at which the teacher is assigned, as well as prolonged or irregular hours.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Be able to communicate with students, parents, and campus and District personnel during the standard work hours of the campus at which the teacher is assigned, as well as prolonged or irregular hours.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Adhere to all professional responsibilities and deadlines including professional communication and responsiveness.
</li></ul><ul><li>Be flexible, responsive, and positive with students, parents, and staff.
</li></ul><ul><li>Effectively translate CISD Best Practices into the virtual instructional setting.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Regularly attend and apply District-approved professional development in the most up-to-date practices associated with virtual instruction.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Accurately and timely obtain and report required student data, including attendance, grades, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Dress professionally as you would if you were offering instruction to students in a traditional, in-person setting.
</li></ul><ul><li>Teach and interact with students from a quiet space, free from distraction, where appropriate confidentiality rules can be followed.
</li></ul><ul><li>Create a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
</li></ul><ul><li>Provide small group and tutoring opportunities for students who are experiencing difficulty in their learning.
</li></ul><ul><li>Support any extracurricular activities for which you are responsible according to District guidelines.
</li></ul><ul><li>Attend all required campus and District meetings.

<div><div>EXPERIENCE:</div></div><br>
<div><ul><br>
<li>Applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in all areas of vocal music- vocal styles, choral techniques, and sight-reading.</li><br>
<li>
Applicants should have extensive experience in solo work as well as in small and large ensemble performance situations.</li></ul><br>

<div><div>QUALIFICATIONS:</div><br>

<div><div><p><b>Education/Certification:</b></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor of Music Education from an accredited University</li>
<li>Certification requirements; Music-All Level</li>
</ul><p><b>Special Knowledge/Skills:</b></p>
<ul><li>Applicants should have adequate keyboard skills.</li>
<li>Applicants should have Orff-Kodaly training and/or certification.</li>
