We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structures Engineer (Bridges &amp; Highway Structures O&amp;M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar on a long-term project managing the Strategic Highways Structures in the country.</p><p>
In this role, you will be responsible for the Inspections and Maintenance of bridges and highway structures across the network, ensuring their safety, structural integrity and serviceability in compliance with the contract&rsquo;s Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes bridges, footbridges flyovers/interchanges, iconic bridges, tunnels, monuments, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts and other highway structural assets.</p><p>
Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements for Inspections, Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance, meeting all required SLAs and KPIs &ndash; Effectively eliminating any qualify failures.</li><li>
Ensure accurate utilization of Asset Management System (MAXIMO) to manage and close out Work Orders (Wos) and Service Request (SRs) correctly and efficiently.</li><li>
Maintain accurate utilization of Bridge Management System (BMS) ensuring accurate inventory, inspection reporting, condition, and performance data.</li><li>
Analyze inspection data to assess structural conditions, identify deterioration rates, plan and carry out corrective maintenance and evaluate structural and/or safety risks.</li><li>
Support and lead inspection teams carrying out different types of inspections of bridges and highway structures, ensuring accurate reporting and acceptable works recommendations.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. traffic management, lighting, highways, pavement, HSE and other teams) to ensure integrated network operations and maintenance and maximize efficiency.</li><li>

Propose capital improvement solutions (including strengthening, rehabilitation, and replacement programs) based on risk, structural capacity, safety impact, and lifecycle cost analysis, and later lead on their delivery.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with relevant standards for inspection, maintenance and assessment in Qatar (which are mainly UK based) and asset management international best practices (e.g. ISO 55000 series).</li><li>

Performs engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of highways and their attendant facilities and structures. Work is performed within a defined framework of policy, but the incumbent independently makes engineering decisions within that framework and may make or assist in making broad decisions in setting objectives and goals. Positions within this classification may function as Assistant Engineering Director, Assistant District Engineer, or Regional Engineer. Performs related duties as required.<br>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Supervises section activities and personnel in engineering and non-engineering areas</li><li>Visits projects and makes on-site engineering decisions</li><li>Train and evaluate personnel to ensure quality work</li><li>Plans, schedules, and coordinates the activities of subordinate personnel</li><li>Reviews ongoing work at major decision points concerning problems or alternatives under consideration at that time</li><li>Investigates and responds to citizen complaints or requests</li><li>Represent the Department at internal and external meetings</li><li>Serves as a senior level with recognized expertise which may include papers and/or credits published in nationally recognized transportation literature; presentations to national, regional or State professional groups, active membership in recognized national organizations or professional groups dealing with transportation engineering or other demonstrated expertise in a transportation engineering specialty such as concrete, steel, bituminous materials, environmental measurements, geotechnical evaluations, instrumental analysis, computer application, structural analysis, electronics, metallography, corrosion, welding and mathematical analysis, transportation systems analysis, route location, project evaluation, transportation planning, design, pavement, hydraulics, and other related fields</li><li>Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver&rsquo;s license is required</li></ul></div><br>

 <b>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE</b></p><ul><li>
Six (6) years of highway engineering experience involving the design, construction, or maintenance of highways.</li><li>
Substitution #1: Master of Science degree in civil engineering from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. Please attach your degree's transcript or diploma to your application.<br>
<b>OR</b></li><li>
Substitution #2: Non-highway engineering experience may be substituted for the highway engineering experience at the rate of two (2) years of general experience for one (1) year of highway-related experience.</li></ul><p><b>
Note:</b> Experience must have been acquired after the obtainment of the bachelor&rsquo;s degree but may have occurred before or after registration as a professional engineer.</p></div></div></div><p></p>
